Ok to first check the obvious things. you are using the standard remote that came with the unit i can assume, and you've tried a different fresh set of batteries, and there is nothing blocking the receivers remote sensor or the remotes output sensor. If you have a smart phone there is an app for Denon AVR's that allow you to use your phone to control the unit assuming you also have a home network that the AVR is connected to.
If everything else works with the app you may just have a faulty remote, hard to test without trying it on another persons same model AVR

My KLH 5100 System worked fine for nearly a year. Very suddenly the remote control seems to have no effect on the unit. It doesn't switch it on, or off, or change the volume...nothing. I changed the...

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.
Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

zone 2 volume can be adjusted by zone2 remote control (small one which came with the unit) or by main remote control if you switch it to zone2 mode. My main rem control has a slide switch i have to put in zone 2 position to operate zone 2 amp.

I have a Dish IR. Not sure of the model number. Uses 4 AAA batts. The problem I have is the every function seems to work fine except for the volume control. In order to change volume I have to use the TV...

It is possible that those buttons have failed, but a bit more likely the remote lost the codes for the TV itself... since almost everything the remote controls... is on the DVR. I apologize if I am guessing wrong in assuming other "TV" buttons (like INPUT) don't function either.

To re-program your remote to recognize your TV (like when the tech first set up the system) choose from the following receiver types to find the correct remote control TV codes for your Zenith.

Remote TV Codes for 722/622/612/411/222/211 Receivers
Remote TV Codes for 625/522/512/510/508/501 Receivers
Remote TV Codes for 811/381/322/311/301 Receivers

Hi! Transmitting doesn't mean it's working, What you should do to test it is use a good quality universal remote such as a Logitech Harmony and first program the preset code for your receiver into the Universal Remote. If that works, you know your OEM remote has gone bad, at least for those buttons. If it doesn't then you you should attempt to have your Universal Remote "learn" the IR signals from your receiver's remote If the controls still don't work, there is a problem with either your IR receiver on your receiver or the the circuitry that proceesses the signals into commands. Good Luck!

Remote control not recognizing codes

Codes for many of our TVs can be found at InsigniaProducts.com. For the Blu-ray player, we recommend using your universal remote's scan or learning feature.

Hard drive needs format

You need to download below manual... it seems it is all similar, read below as well.

Your remote might be using the wrong "infrared code", so the recorder when in service mode cannot understand it. Sony offers a feature that allows their recorders to operate under three different remote control signals, so if you own more than one Sony the remotes will not interfere with each other. The standard remote code the recorder is set to when new is "3". If by some chance you changed that code yourself, or the store changed it, then your remote is not sending signals that "service mode" can recognize.

You will need to change the remote's control code to "3" before the recorder will recognize it while in service mode. To change the remote code, take the remote to another room away from the recorder. Hold down the enter button, then press the 3 button. Hold both buttons down for 7 seconds, then release. Try the remote on the recorder: it should now be recognized and able to operate the service menu. Upon exiting service mode, the recorder may revert back to whatever code was last set, and the "3" codes that worked in service mode may not work in normal recorder mode. If it does not, do the same as before: try changing the remote control from "3" to "2" or "1".

Toshiba Regza not recognized by remote

The only solution you may have is to buy a high end universal remote that will control the Dish receiver as well as your peripherals. Dish also has a new receiver- 222k- that offers learning remotes and expanded product codes to support more tv's.The 222k is a dual tuner two room HD non DVR receiver. I hope this assists you. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can further assist you.
