You have too many programs queued to run at startup. Click "Start" and then "Run". Type in "MSCONFIG" and hit return.

Click the startup tab and this is a listing of all the programs that load at startup. Keep all your firewall and antivirus programs, but you can shut off just about anything else, like Java Updater, Quicktime, iTunes updater, etc. etc.

Could be an overload of Apps/Programs starting up with windows. There are several good utilities to maintain/tune up windows that will allow you to edit your startup items and stop all additional applications except for Anti Virus and Firewall from starting with Windows. Doing so will not prevent the use of said applications, just keeps them from starting/loading and trying to update every time you start your system. There could be other reasons for the delay/CPU usage but this is the most likely in my opinion. Other than your Security software as mentioned above, you shouldn't be concerned about stopping software from starting with your system as the utilities that allow you to edit your start up items doesn't allow you to cancel any Windows required systems.

Or, you can edit these items in Microsoft Configuration Utility as Officedrone1 has so kindly provided you exact instructions on. You will be prompted to restart your computer when done and will see a dialogue box with a box at the lower left to tick and select "Ok" and you won't see it until next time you edit settings in MSCONFIG.

Add/Edit: You will see the dialogue after reboot.

The number of programmes working at the backend, some you can see at task manager and some you cannot.Try removing any unwanted software or programmes.Check in the add or remove option in control panel if there r don't hesitate. Clean up your disk regularly if you r an internet user.START-ALL PROGRAMS-ACCESSORIES-SYSTEM TOOLS-DISK CLEAN UP.In system tools you'll find DISK DEFRAGMENTER use that too, especially for C drive. There r many programmes that will do all these automatically, search in the Google. The last option is formatting your drive and making a new OS installation.

Computer CPU/Processor maxed 100%

Is your computer experiencing a CPU that is running at 100% Is your computer experiencing slow performance?

You can view your CPU utilization and other performance stats using Windows Task Manager. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and bring up Task Manager. Go to the performance tab.

g33k4u_0.gif

The top of this screen should show your CPU stats.

In Linux you can use the TOP command,
Type the top command:
$ top

A CPU that is running at 100% utilization is not necessarily a problem. When the computer is booting up, or coming out of sleep mode, it may max out the CPU which is normal. The CPU will be utilized fully in order to bring the computer up as fast as possible. Some computers will even utilize the CPU while it is idle, to complete background task such as disk cleanup and file reallocation.

A problem will occur if the CPU stays maxed out. If it stays at 100% for more than a couple of minutes, you may be experiencing degraded computer performance.

Steps to reduce performance degradation.

-In a limited number of cases, software bugs can cause CPU utilization to spike. You will know this is the case if you are using a computer program(that is not hardware intensive like photo/video editors) and notice degraded computer performance. Check your CPU stats while running the program. If this is the case, check online for solutions and possible upgrades which resolve bugs in the software.

-You can reduce Windows start up programs, which will speed up the boot/wakeup process. You can do this from the MSCONFIG window. Go to Start > and in the run box type "msconfig". Go to the "startup" tab and you can uncheck which programs you do not want to start with Windows.

-A majority of the time a computer will get to a point were the hardware will need to be upgraded in order to handle the work you are doing. Common computer upgrades are memory, cpu, motherboard and hard drive.

100% CPU usage

Hi,

Try to monitor the CPU usage before opening CROME. If it is normal before opening it then there is some process under CROME which takes you CPU usage report to GOOGLE on this. and remove it through Add/Remove programmes under control panel.

Try to use Firefox instead of CROME.

If it happens again then there is some thing wrong with OS( most probabaly Spyware or trozen).

Have you inatalled the latest service pack before you upgraded to IE7?
If not, suggest you un-install IE7, install the service pack, reboot computer and then upgrade to IE7.
If IE7 causes you problems the revert back to IE6.

My laptop CPU usage is at 100%

yes you are correct that the tmobile has a frequency

The U.S. T-Mobile network predominately uses the GSM/GPRS 1900 MHz frequency-band, making it the largest 1900 MHz network in the United States.
which is 1.9 ghz

try stopping some servicies(WIN XP)
click on start
click on run
type in MSCONFIG
and press enter
you will get system configuration utility
click on services tab
at the bottom there is a box which has a message hide all microsoft servicies
put a checkmark in that box and then uncheck all boxes which you think is not a programe you use
once you do this click on apply
then click on close
you will be asked to restart the system
just restart it
now you will get a message regarding system configuration utility
do put a check mark in the box which says do not show me this message in future
then click n ok
your system should work fine.
