Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to get screen on? Light is on and new batteries, just not screen

Check for a contrast knob. It will be on the right end of the machine or around the bottom edge of the screen. If not you will need to have a Pfaff technician look at it.

Change the speed controller mode to off

Touch the icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like a sheet of paper. The screen that pops up should have a slider icon in the upper right. You can set it to stitch width or speed control.

Hi Can u please tell me how to calibrate my Designer 1? Have not done it for a few years and now I've forgotten. Also my touch screen is only partially responding....I'm not getting any response...

Hi Vina, Since you can't get any response to your Menu-Norm-Prog-Rep-Set-or Help on your touch screen but you can get into your stitches, It does sound like you need to re-calibrate your touch screen. Normally you would get into your Set Menu to access your touch screen calibration. But as suggested on another solution. You turn off your Des 1, Holding in the reverse button (bottom left of the eight buttons) and the pivot button (the second one from the bottom of the four buttons) at the same time and turn on your machine. This is the Service menu that pops up (try not to touch anything on this screen, it could really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing) After this screen pops up go over to the eight buttons on the far left of your machine and touch the needle up, needle down button (top right button of the eight) the Calibration Screen will pop up on your touch screen (two plus marks labeled 1 & 2) In your sewing sitting position touch the center of the #1 mark and then the #2 mark. Once you've done that the Service Screen will pop back up. Shut off your Des 1 and restart it normally. Try getting into your different menus- Menu-Norm-Prog Etc. Hopefully that fixed your Calibration issue! ** Note: If the service menu doesn't pop up when trying to hold in these 2 buttons together and turning on your Des 1 the buttons weren't held in properly and you need to turn it off and try it again. Hopefully that helped you out!! Happy Sewing!! Kathy

Screen comes up but the buttons at the bottom will not respond to touch and the others seem less sensitive also

Ok, turn off the machine, take the power cord off. Wait for a few minutes and replug it. Make sure there's no extension plug connected to it.
Then turn it on and check if the buttons work and it doesn't, check if there's any error message or indicator on the screen.

I have the quilters 150x150 hoop and I need an update to use it, the button on my embroidery machine is grey I think it needs to be dark blue

Dark grey, actually, but you don't need the upgrade. Set the hoop size at the machine for the 150 x 240 hoop and the 150 x 150 hoop will work. Just be sure that the design starts in the centre i.e. don't move it up or down at the machine Embroidery screen. Before you begin sewing, check that the design will fit in the hoop without bumping the sides of the hoop. Use the Check Size button which is on the second screen of the Embroidery Screen (touch More on bottom right of first screen). The Check Size button is the one on the bottom right - the first button to the left of "More". Touch it once, hoop moves to top left of design; touch again hoop moves to bottom left of design; again hoop moves to bottom right; again hoop moves to top right.

Make yourself a note so that when you next take your D1 in for its regular service, get the hoop upgrade done at the same time. You need to have at least version 2.1 of the machine software installed - your tech. can do this for you too. It is a really minor adjustment so should not add much to the service cost. Be sure to take the embroidery unit in too when you go for the service.

4. While holding turn on machine
5. Using scribe
6. Touch the centre of each + as it appears
7. It will go Centre bottom rh centre top lh as you select each + position it moves of it's own accord.
8. Turn off machine

When I turn on my designer 1 the needle is off center to the right, not centered. Also when selecting a zig zag or other decorative stich it sews something different. Have tried recalabrating the screen no...

These machines are computers are just that: COMPUTERS. Nothing to do but have a mechanic ltake a ook at it for possible fix. It is not communicating with the brain since settings are off. There is a manual on ebay for $5.99 that is a three-part CD and I suggest you go on-line and buy it. It will hep with parts, service and how-tos for your D-1. I have it and find it invaluable for fixing my own machines. Hope this helps.

7570, screen problems

.... yes, and you really don't want to know about it! Sounds like the screen is failing. If so, a replacement is the only solution.  This can be quite a few dollars.

Good luck!
