The heat will only shrink, crack, or dislodge any sealant applied to ceramic or metal surfaces. A weld will work on some metal surfaces depending the composition and thickness. Some materials are TOXIC and contaminate food, so be aware of that fact.

Can i weld a torque conveternto stop leakng

No, if leaking from the seal welding is not going to help. If leaking from seam I guess you could in theory weld but it would have to be removed from car and drained of oil. Would not be a good idea.

My whisperflo wfk 3 has a leak from under the pump. How to repair it

you may have a crack in the pot housing, a leaking seal if the water is coming out under the motor( be very careful if so, shock hazard), or the drain plug at the bottom of the pot may be loose or broken. If you can isolate it to the strainer pot, then you may be able to replace just that. A leaking seal is tougher.

I have an air leak in intake line

Question:

What do I do if my pool/spa pump is loosing suction or prime?

Answer: by Osko Pool n Spa Pool Pump Losing Suction or Prime If your Swimming Pools Filter system looses Prime, it is caused by one of the following conditions.
Note: The lost of suction/prime is caused a leak which in turn sucks air into the system. The lost of suction/prime will be anywhere from the Main Pool Skimmer(s) to the Pool Pump. It will NOT be from the Pool Pump to the Pools Main Return(s).
1) First make sure that your water level is high enough so that the skimmer is not sucking air.
2) Check the Pump Pot Housing Lid Seal and be certain that its completely sealing and is not
Sucking air into the system. Check the lid for cracks. If either condition is true, replace the Pump Pot Lid Seal and/or entire lid
3) Check all fittings, clamps and hoses from the pools skimmer to the Pools Pump Pot Housing for wear, tightness and leaks.
4) Check Pool Pump Pot Housing for cracks.
If everything aforementioned in good working order, the next thing to check is the Pump Pot Housing Main Seal and the Pumps Impeller and finally the pump.

5) While the Pool Pump Motor is running, carefully inspect the area where the Pump Pot Housing attaches to the Pump Motor. See if there is any water leaking. Next, spray the area with water and see if the water is sucked into the Housing. If so, your Main Seal is damaged.
6) Disassemble the front half of the Pump Pot Housing from the back half and inspect the Pump Motor Impeller. (This is a high suspect part). See if there is any sign of wear or breakage. (This happens over time from debris in the water passing over the impeller). If so, your Impeller is damaged.
7) Re-inspect the Pump Pot Housing Main Seal by standing the partially disassembled upright, with the Pump Motor towards the ground. Pour water over the impeller and into the cavity. See if the water leaks thru to the outside of the Pump Pot Housing. If so, your Main Seal is damaged.
8) Remove the cover from the rear of the Pump Motor. Using a large standard blade, (straight), screwdriver or wrench... turn the main motor shaft. Listen for grinding and/or rumbling and feel for any restrictions while turning. If you hear or feel either, your bearings and/or brushes are damaged.
If everything seems to be in good working order, then you need a new pump... not just replacement parts

REPLACEMENT OF GAS WATER HEATER LEAKING FROM TOP INTAKE FLEXPIPE

A leaking from a pipe (but from a soldered or threaded connection point) should be replaced - not repaired. Chances are good that the wall thickness of the pipe has been reduced all along the pipe's length. This means that even if you "seal" the existing leaks, new ones will probably pop up fairly soon.

If you insist on attempting a seal, you may have luck with JB Weld's WaterWeld. JB Weld products are available from most hardware stores, home centers, etc. WaterWeld is designed for plumbing repairs like yours. This should stop the leak at this location - but beware of new leaks, later.

I hope this helps & good luck!

The aluminum pot that goes in my rice cooker has started leaking after 16-18 years. Is there any fix? Is it trash. I doubt I can find a replacement pot. Thanks for your time.

i cannot think of any repair, that would work on thin aluminium and be safe for food preparation. (not that i would eat from afterwards anyway).
if it leaks, it is almost certainly too thin to weld.
i would not trust soldering/brazing with the heat.
chemical sealers/glues are not suitable for food prep items.

i am sorry, but i think it has cooked its last meal

Broken pot to a crock pot

Here is Rival's parts page for your model. They show two different versions for your number, and the stoneware for both are out of stock. But there's a "contact us" link so maybe they can tell you when the parts will be available, or recommend another suitable replacement.

My Fender Blues Deville 212 has a very "ratty" tone on clean...

i am guessing on what the problem is , the post is very vague. i am guessing a channel switching issue. you need to check the "sugar cube" looking power resistors solder welds. they are probably cracked and arent making good contact. if you tap on the amp it will cut in and out, its probably these two resistors. they are usually 470ohm 5 watt cement resistors. what happens is they get real hot, and as they cool down they crack the little solder welds. i usually replace them with new and keep them floating up over the pcb to help them stay cool and off of the board to prevent further solder weld cracking, stock they are real close to the board. then put a little silicon under the resistor to hold it in place and to keep it still on the board. i just fixed a blues deluxe with this issue. while you are in there, cut out the resistor sitting right behind the reverb pot, this will make the reverb awesome. also solder the mid pot center leg to the mid pot leg that comes off of the bass pot leg to get better midrange control. very easy mods. check the master volume pot, is it a B100K? pull it and put an A250k in its place for better volume control. bias pots , etc. check my website yostamplifier.com.
