This error code indicates a problem related to paper cassette lift mechanism. First thing that you will need to check is, if the printer makes some strange noises at initialization, when the printer is trying to lift the paper inside cassette. You can verify if the lift mechanism on the printer is ok, by removing paper cassette and press the 3 small white switches on the left of printer. At this moment the printer is trying to lift the cassette and you will see a gear that rotates on the right side of printer. Also verify if the GEAR LIFT Z64 is intact by opening the gearbox(the big one from the gears from the right side of paper cassette). This gear is cracked in most cases. Replace it.
"Splice the broken end to the take up reel of a newly bought cassette that you can open. open the new cassette, trash the interior If you can't move the old reels to the new mechanism: tape one side of the broken cassette's tape to the new take up reel close the new cassette (do not open or break the old cassette if it's not already done) insert a pencil into the gizmo on the take up reel on the new cassette, reel up the old cassettes tape into the new cassette re open the new cassette splice the other end to the new cassette's gizmo close the new cassette record the contents to digital"
If the set had been kept off without use for a long period of time it is possible that the mechanism would have jammed up or the drives would have lost the contacts, or a possible servo or loading drive fault.
Since the tape was chewed up as it was inserted on the tray, I think the take up spool, the reel winder , the capstan can be suspected areas.
You might have to open the tray and mechanism to confirm- this is a delicate mechanism and must be removed with a lot of care..
HI, this is a mechanism fault beep you are hearing. the mechanism and load motor is damaged. you will need to send this unit to the Handy cam repair depot for this repair. you will need a new load motor and loading dock mechanism as well.
Dew has condensed in the camera. Eject the cassette but leave the cassette door open.remove the battery . Borrow a hair drier . set it to optimum temperature(not vey hot but but hot enough to cause discomfort when blown on fingers). direct the hot air through the cassette compartment door for about five minutes. reattach the battery and reinsert the tape. Good Luck, Luwangula
Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
