What year is the vehicle? Some newer vehicles have specific coding in the ecu that tell it whether or not it is allowed to start. If it is an older model then maybe one of the plugs is loose or not connected I had that problem with one of my car's, I took the ecu out to modify it and when I installed it I didn't get one of the plugs in all the way and it did everything except for start and connect to my computer.

ECM fuse keeps popping and fuel system don't work

There should be two ECM fuses. Number one powers the injectors and some of the solenoids along with the ECM. Number two or B powers the fuel pump relay and the rest of the ECM including the sensors that provide data to the ECM. Both are 10amp circuits.
You may need to get a shop manual to have the wiring diagrams to troubleshoot the circuits.

M a p mirage95

Anytime you replace a sensor or ignition parts on a Mitsubishi, (also have a 95 Mirage) the whole **** thing goes out of whack and won't start. Have to reset the ECC (ECM) supposedly by allowing it to drain of juice (disconnect both battery cables for about a day) See if this works for you

Hi there.
You must have a drain some where.
Make sure the brake light are NOT staying on. if they are, it will drain the battery. this is due to faulty brake light switch.
I think the ESP light is related to the brake light switch.

you are not getting spark to the plugs, forget the codes for now, get an inline spark tester and check all plugs and wires, i say forget the codes cause till the engine runs the codes won't be accurate and the ecm does not control spark just the timing

2001 new beetle won't start has new battery

I have a 2003 new beetle TDI. I have got error codes on my ECM that have stopped my engine from starting. I got an OBD2 reader from the auto parts store. I plugged it into the OBD2 port below the steering wheel and got the error codes. After writing them down, I cleared the codes. the car started fine. It has pulled this a couple times over three years. I carry an OBD2 reader with me so I can clear the codes and get going again. Good Luck
