Hello, there is no chance that you can fix this problem by replacing speaker wires. Resoldering the output stages as well as area around the microprocesor could be the efficient solution. If you need more info please advice.

Hi, you have to unplug your unit and open it up you will see two printed circuit boards one slightly over the other at the back of the unit. You have to loosen the top one off so that you can get to the bottom one, turn the bottom over and take the protective copper board off wth care so that you can see the soldered joints. Check all large pole joints and re-solder as i had to do 14 joints also the brown capacitor was loose on my board and re-soldered that also. I found that the cable inside the unit that comes from the headphone socket, follow it to where it is connected to the bottom board, three of the soldered joint were loose and i re-soldered them also. Rebuild circuit boards into place dont forget to put the copper cover board back in place on the bottom circuit board. The above info i found on an internet site and followed the instructions my unit now works just as new. P.S. USE SMALL TIPPED SOLDERING IRON.

Try playing with the connection, sounds to me maybe the jack is going bad or has a shorted connection. Plug it in and out slowly to see if that's the issue.
