Question about Intex Above Ground Pool 12x30"" Easy Set Pool Set w/530G Filter Pump 56421EG

Return port of the intex pump is sucking in water at the top part of the nozzle

I bought a new 2500gph pump and filter for my metal framed above ground pool (530gph pump failed for the second time). I had to get an adaptor kit as the original return and intake ports are smaller than the new hoses. Everything seems to work fine but the return port sucks water into the port at the top while discharging water out of the rest of the port. I see no leaks or anything else that is odd. The adaptors are not well designed (has a plunger to cut off water flow - bulky and pulls on hose connection) and I am concerned about debris being sucked into the return port which is exactly what is happening. A mini whirlpool forms when this occurs. The water level is just above the port. At the intake port, everything seems to be fine and water is definitely being pulled in with no issues. Any advice/help would be appreciated.

If the debris that is getting pulled in is floating, lower the inlet to about 3 to 6 inches under the surface of the water.

My wife and i bought a 16 by 48 in. ultra frame intex pool. we had profesionals level the ground, we have a sandy base, and after filling our pool with water and the legs settled, the pool is approx. 2 in....

There won't be any structural problems and you will notice the difference more than anyone else. If you redo the pool next year it will help to set each leg on a patio brick so it won't settle.

When you set up a metal frame intex pool is it best to set it on sand or is there another way to set it up

Sand is always the best way to go. This way if the pool frame, liner, or even the ground shift a little it has no ill effects. The sand just conforms to whatever is on top of it and to a degree, whatever is below it as well. Soft soil works okay, but it depends on the part of the country you are in. Definitely not good to try on hard ground or anywhere there are rocks and debris.

This is our first year with an intex 18x52 metal frame pool. can we leave it up in the winter and how do you close it?

I don't know how well those hold up during the winter months... it all depends on where you live...

Put in a gallon of shock and a 60% algaecide, let it circulate 8-12 hours and then drain it below the inlet and outlet. Put an air pillow in the middle and then a cover on top of that, secure the cover with a cable. Empty and clean the filter system and hoses then bring it indoors. You MUST take off all the excess water and snow.
