Open it the flame compartment, disassemble and remove, clean the rods with crocus cloth then set them back. Be careful to set the proper distance between the flame rods.

Why wont the pilot light on my hot water tank stay lit

there is no pilot- it is lit with a ignitor. If you have problems the unit needs a service cleaning of the flame sensor rods.

SW4P Pilot Water Heater 3 Gallon Trailer Camper RV

These systems use "flame rectification" to sense or prove a flame or pilot flame exists thus it is safe to continue or transition to main burners if a system with a pilot light.
The AC spark is rectified to a DC signal by the flame as the AC current passes through the flame, the flame being a poor conductor only a small amount of DC signal is sent, in the milliamps, so it is not too difficult to interrupt the signal and disrupt the operation, it is doing this for safety.
What you can do is clean the surfaces where the pilot assembly meets the casing and burnish this path clean back to the ignition modules ground or burner ground terminal, there may be a flame sensor too, in this case clean it with 0000 steel wool it is just a ground rod and does not wear out but will build a film that can disrupt the weak DC signal.

On A.O. Smith water heater model BTH 199 100 where is the heat sensor rod located ?

Parts list:
Flame rod, flame sensor sits next to igniter inside combustion chamber. This can be cleaned with sandpaper. Do not touch with fingers. Purpose of flame rod is to detect whether ignition has caused actual, sustainable fire inside the combustion chamber.
If sensor is bad, or no ignition is detected after 2-3 attempts, then 'no ignition' error is given.
Bad gas control valve, bad-or-dirty flame rod-sensor, low gas pressure, misaligned rod, dirty combustion parts, etc

Service handbook:
High gas pressure spikes can daMAGE gas control valve p7

Product manual:
Word-search for 'failure'
Low gas pressure. p14 and p54
1-3 trials before declaring 'ignition failure. p48
bad flame sensor (clean with sandpaper) #10 p58
unit must be grounded (check outlet with circuit analyzer) #12 p58

Noritz Boiler NH-1501-DV-NG Shuts off at radom times with blinking error code 123

error code 123 is a flame rod sensor problem. Chances are the flame rod is sending a weak signal to the control unit. Check for a loose flame rod electrical connector. Peek in the flame inspection windows to ensure there is a proper flame on that side of the burner. If non of the above then try removing the flame rod and cleaning with 400 grit sandpaper or replace it with part order # SKC7448 (called an Ignition plug ELV & Packing EHK SETV)

Rheem Power Vent Nat Gas

The flame sense rod is actually dirty. To clean this, open up the cover and you will see all of the components. The Flame rod is on the burner assembly. to remove the burner assembly, shut off the gas supply, loosen and remove the two silver tubes that come off of the gas valve, disconnect the blue wire. pull the whol housing out. Now clean the silver device that looks like a claw.

Sometimes it doesn't light at all other times during use the hot water goes off and the box keeps flashing green as it continues to spark

it sounds like the flame sensor is dirty or faulty. when the pilot lights the flame sensor rod recognises the flame to allow the main gas valve to open and ignite the burners. you can clean the flame sensor with some steel wool or sandcloth

Bosch SX 250 Lp. I get EA code and will not start. Was very windy last night. Does anyone know how to correct this issue?

EA & EC are telling you that the flame is not covering the flame sensor rod.
Take the front cover off by unscrewing the 2 phillips head screws about 1/2 way down the cover and may be covered by a plastic plate that unsnaps.
Locate the flame inspection glass window near the right side above the control panel. Prepare to observe the flame from start, until the error appears. Visually locate the flame sensor rod: there are 3 rods that pass through the plate below the burner - it is the right most of the 3, angle your head so you can focus on this single rod. Begin water flow by opening a valve or the pressure relief valve that should be outside the cabinet, at the bottom.

Did the flame ignite? it should make several tries before an error.
if it ignited, did the flame cover the flame rod, or did it jump up over it leaving the rod in clear gas below the flames?
In the LCD display, upper right corner, is an indicator in the shape of a flame. It is visably displayed when the flame is covering the flame rod, indicating that the flame is being detected by the electronics. If the flame covered the rod but the indicate is not on, the rod itself may be dirty. Remove it with the other 2 ignitor rods and careful clean the sensor rod with something like steel wool to remove the corrosion. Re-install and test again. If that didn't fix this condition, your control circuit is faulty.

If you find that the flame jumps over the rod and doesn't emerce the rod, check the draft vent pipe for any obstructions, water, bird nest, etc, and any obstruction of the combustion air supply. Check the the gas blower starts up, check for water or white dust in the clear tubing that attaches to the black blower intake from the gas meter.

Otherwise, you will need to follow the procedures to adjust the CO2 and this WILL require a combustion gas analyzer! If you are at an elevation above 2,000 feet, expect to make this adjustment.
