Re bad disc message. the disc is stuck inside the unit. Initializes, cannot eject disc, then gives a 'bad disc' message.

Hi. I would contact Arcam directly for this - there may be a reset action you could perform or they could diagnose the fault further.

Arcam repair

Maybe a firmware (that's the running program) problem I'd contact Arcam, if your Solo has a USB input they should be able to send you a firmware update which you can download to a USB stick and then upload to the Solo (instructions will be in the manual). If not your local Arcam dealer should be able to do it for you Arcam warranties are 3 to 5 years. Don't now if they'll edit this but also try AV Forums online. good luck

Display on arcam say initialising... And nothing happens

It can be a faulty "cd drive unit" or "main board". In my case it was the main board.

How to hook up a computer sub to a hometheater amp

http://www.arcam.co.uk/_ugc/file/avr280e_manual.pdf

If you have the whole Z5500 package you could run the Arcam's optical- or coaxial digital audio output to the corresponding input on the Logitech.

But I'd be careful about letting BOTH the Arcam and the Logictech perform Digital Sound Processing on the sound. DSP's aren't meant to be stacked. My money says the Arcam is better in the DSP department than the Logitech.

If you have just the sub, run the Sub PRE out from the Arcam to the Sub/Center input (adapt it to 3.5 mm) on the Control Center and set the switch to "6 ch direct".

My Arcam AVR300 is having issues with the digital optical input. Sound becomes distorted or shuts off completely at times. Sometimes, turning it off and on will resolve the issue, but other times, it...

The problem (Known to Arcam) is with the some diodes in the power supply to the DSP board. Over time they do not work properly and the power fluctuation makes the sound distort. They need replacing (only once to a higher spec) if you contact Arcam they can advise you.

Won't go off

The first thing to try is to do what is called a "factory reset". What this does is to force your RD to reload all of its factory default settings straight out of the programmed firmware. These new settings will then overwrite any present settings which may be corrupted. Here is how to do it (specifically for the Solo S2):

Solo S2’s Factory Settings
To reset Solo S2 to its original factory settings, press and hold the Mute and M (Mode) buttons while turning Solo S2 on.Solo S2’s display will provide a “Reset” message, accompanied by an audible alert, acknowledging the reset.
