Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My c5180 prints on 3"x5" notecards perfectly. The problem is getting the cards in and out of the load tray. I am running OS X.5 and MSWord for Mac. In MSWord the paper set up is for t"3x5" notecards I load them from the PAPER TRAY with the 5" side along the right side, and the 3" side against the back stop. But, I have to use a knife to push the backstop border holder (I don't know what they are called) all the way into the machine so that the note cards are flush against the back stop. Getting them out of there (if I loaded too many) is a nightmare and takes 10 minutes or so of inserting different tools through the back of the printer to push the note cards up into the front of the paper tray to where I can use the long knife to pull them out one by one. Should I be using the photo tray? Since that slider DOES push all the way down, and the note cards ARE printed wonderfully, I am thinking that there must be some way to take out the output tray or the paper load or photo tray to be able to access that slider on the 3" side from the front.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: tray output
You should configure TRAY 1 as Legal only.
and Tray 2 as plain letter.
Specially when you specify from what tray/paper type to print.
This can be easily configured from the Printer Properties within the Printers and Faxes section of the Control Panel.

Here's the trick. It took me an hour to figure this puzzle out myself.
DO NOT select the Print icon at the bottom of iPhoto. Do NOT select Print from the File menu.
DO select EXPORT from the File menu.
Select the HP Photosmart Mac tab
Select HP Photosmart Print.app from the app selector.
Click the Export button.
HP Photosmart Print.app will load with a new print dialog box.
Make all necessary selections. This is where you can select the Photo Tray as the tray for the printer to take paper from.
This solved MY problem! Let us know if this helps you!
