Jack you posted in the wrong category. If you post in Canon video you'll have better luck or try the DVX User forums for that model:

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I was having the same problem... I went to the Sony support site (www.iq.sony.com) and found a solution-- (pasted below) I changed the focus setting in the movie mode to "infinity" rather than "multi AF", and now the video has stopped the focus phasing! Wahoo!
Once in movie mode (the filmstrip symbol), press the "menu" button on the back of the camera, press to the right until you find "Focus". Scroll up and set the focus to the infinity symbol and press the center button to select. pres menu to exit and strat filming!
FROM SONY'S WEBSITE:
Knowledge Article C381853
Video taken with the still camera is out of focus.
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot video focus. IMPORTANT: if additional model specific information is needed to perform these functions, refer to the operating instructions supplied with your camera for more information.

You need to use free video player VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Download and install, then open your video and go to Tools>ExtendedSettings>VideoEffects>Geometry check box beside Rotate, now you can use arrow below to rotate imege as necessary!
