Re-wireing of plug cord

I stupidly dropped my air conditioner and the plug cord came completely out. All the connections are still there I am just unsure about how the wiring is hooked up. I have looked for a wiring diagram but have been unsuccesful.

The color wires I have are green, white and black. the green wire is abviosly my ground as I can see where it was stripped out of its place to the frame work. There is also a orange wire that I'm not sure if it was connected to anything it is not connected to the cord wire that was pulled out. Is there any way to get a wireing diagram this must be so confusing to you to have to explain to me. Thankyou

Voltage drops for 119 to 104 when the roof top unit is running, it will trip the 20 amp breaker occasionally.

You need a larger drop cord (heaver duty) from the service to the RV. You need to also check the Service plug in the side of your Rv for loose or corrosion in the socket. Then check the power connection to the A/c unit. Check these connections for loose wiring or getting hot. As the voltage drop means extra resistance along the path. Extra resistance means loose, dirty, or bad connections, and get hot, which can cause a fire.

My air conditioner fell out the window and pulled the power cord cord out. Could u please tell me where it connects. I have that area apart but can't see where it goes.

There should be two terminals on the switch. One will be marked L1 and the other L2. Doesn't matter which wire you plug on these terminals. If there is a green wire, it is ground and it will be screwed or clipped to the case

Hi, I would say you have a problem in the cord its self. Even though it lights up, its not getting power to the controls. I would go to a hardware store and get a new cord and take care of the problem. When you replaced the socket in the wall and the fan came on, you just got lucky and the cord moved in the right position to start the fan. I am sure the cord is either faulty, or the connections where the cord wires in are not very good. Please remember how the cord is wired, even if you have to draw a picture. It will hook to a capacitor if it is a 220 unit. Just draw you a diagram.

My dog chewed the cord to the haier air condiener can i replace the cord or fix it

You can go get a new cord make sure it is for window air conditioner has to be heavy duty for the amps that it draws. Or you can patch it making sure to get the right wires connected. And really the best way would be new cord but wrapping the wires and insulating them very well can get by. As long as you know how important it is to make the connections very good.

Roof top air won't come on

If you are running the AC on an extension cord it can cause such voltage drop that a fuse or breaker can blow, in extreme conditions it can damage electrical connections. Always use extension cords that are as short as possible and replace the cord ends (especially the female end) whenever they lose clamping force. A heavy duty cord end takes much more effort to plug in the male end and to plug things into the female end. Over the counter extension cords for your purpose should be no less than 12/3 with heavy duty (20 amp) ends and no more than 50' long, if you must go farther you should use a 10/3 cord.

Unit trips circuit breaker when plugged in

On AC current it really makes no difference to the operation of the unit which terminal the wires are connected to as long as the circuit is completed. A reason for the inverted wiring is that there will be a resistance between the hot wire and the control circuit. It makes for a reduced load on the contacts and switches minimizing arching.
