Question about Epson CX8400 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have an Epson CX8400. For some reason, my ink cartridges run out after several printings. Any ideas?
Epson gives you a miserable 12 ml of ink. Then it reports empty when there is still 10-15% of the ink left. I saw someone set up a brand new CX8400, print a single 4x6 photo and it said he was out of cyan. I use reusable cartridges from http://www.ccs-digital.com They hold 20 ml, which is 2/3 more ink. The chips automatically reset to full if you take the cartridge out and put it back in, so you get to use every drop. The ink is in a separate container inside the main cartridge. When it's really empty, you pop out the ink tank and pop in a new one. The tanks are under $3 each. I think this is brilliant because it's like refilling only it avoids the risks and mess of refills.

First of all, use only mfg's cartridge... and is it really out of ink. Use the printer's controls to clean the inkjets. You can also turn on the "ink saver" function. And don't always go by the on screen reminder you are low on ink. Print till the printer really doesn't print..
