SOURCE: I have a cub cadet model 1420 with hydrostatic

i had exmark hydros i was told to never wash them, the water does more damage than good. have you checked or changed your hydostatic oil and filter latley? if you have, when doing that you have to be very careful not to get any foriegn objects in the oil resevoir, dirt, grass clipings, anything will ruin the hydro pump.

SOURCE: I changed both transmission filters (each side) on

The pump is not working - either because you have fitted the new seals incorrectly or it hasn't been primed correctly.
Dismantle the pump again refit all the parts correctly and check the other seals in the process. Then check the fitting of the hydraulic pipes and prime the entire installation by forcing oil in it while rotating the pump and the wheel motors by hand. Do that for both position of the lever to make sure the regulator has also been filled with oil. Finally start the pump motor and shift the lever to forward and push the mower.

SOURCE: cub cadet 1050 hydro trans after about an hour of cutting the mower does not want to pull up hill. could this be a belt issue?

the belt tension could cause the mower to not pull on a hill you can pull on the belt and if it's flopping around also look at the belt for signs of oil oil leaking on the belt will also cause the belt to slip

Murrym19546 riding mower want move why?

I would believe the mower is ran off a belt and the belt has stretched to the point and needs replacement. Raise the mower up and look under it and see if the drive belt is sloppy or loose.

My John Deere 2520 hydrostatic transmission is making a screeching noise when I push on forward or reverse pedal.

Maybe a pulley trying to lock up, drop the deck and spin your pulleys to see if theres one thats hard to turn or is loose

My JD L130 has little power going foreard and almost none in reverse.

The forward reverse pedal linkage needs adjustment. Remove mower deck pins and slide out of the way. Pull linkage pin out then turn clockwise one full turn .move brake pedal while looking at it .You should see a small brake disc on side of rearend with a nut bolt going through the disc. Pull rod on back of mower that allows you to push mower freely.set parking brake try to move mower by pushing if it moves with break set tighten bolt that goes through brake disc til mower don't move.release parking brake try to move mower should roll easy.if not losen bolt 1/2 turn til it moves easy.reengauge rod on rear of mower to drive it test and be sure to place cable ties on any thing under mower dragging ground .If test works .reinstall mower deck.

My swisher25hp-60 in.cut barely moves going forward

Was it working correctly earlier or is this your initial operation?

According to the product manual for "loss of drive":
1. Bypass linkages in the bypass position
2. Hydro belt worn, damaged, or broken
3. Idler spring loose or broken

1. Make sure that the bypass linkages are in
the drive or engaged position. Located at
the rear of the machine. Refer to decal on
the rear of the unit.
2. Replace Hydro belt.
3. Replace Idler spring

Front wheels on manual mower lock when pushing for awhile.

1 Locate the height adjustment lever on the inside of the left rear wheel.
2 Kneel next to the mower and push the left height adjustment lever toward the center of the mower. This will unlock the lever from the locking pin on which the height is currently set.

3Rotate the lever toward the front of the mower to lower the height of cut, or toward the rear of the mower to raise the height of cut.

4 Release the lever over the locking pin closest to the desired height of cut.

5 Repeat these steps with the adjustment lever on the right-side rear wheel. Be sure to set the right wheel lever to the same position as the left-side wheel's lever for an even cut.

Freewheel lever broken

For the wire to come all the way out lever on top of the trans must be broken. I've seen a few. Jack rear of mower up, remove rear right wheel and find remnants of lever. With pliers turn this all the way forward, mower will now go. But to fit new lever trans will have to be removed. Dont forget the axle key.

Corvette makes a distinctive 'clunk' when engaged in gear and starting to move forward or back. Chattering in left rear hub when making left hand turn. Rear suspension and all brake suspension...

The two symptoms you posted may or may not be related. I'd check the driveshaft and axle joints for any looseness or binding. (do this with the rear wheels hanging free in neutral, front wheels blocked)
The chattering may be an axle joint or the posi unit in the differential. Most times replacing the diff lube, (using posi additive) then making tight left and right circles will free the clutch packs.
Difficult to diagnose noises online. If you have any problems finding the source, have an experienced tech look at it,,,You still have the option of actually doing the work itself.

This ZR4625 is new. It will not track straight. With both levers forward it tracks to the left, I can pull back on the right lever and it tracks ok but it slows down a little. What do you adjust?

First check both rear tyre pressures, if ok you need to adjust the rod that runs between the left lever and the hydrostatic drive on the left rear wheel so that the short lever on the hydrostatic drive travels further when push the drive lever forward. Regards Phil

John Deere L120 transmission high pitch noise and no forward move

Try jacking the unit up. Start it up and try moving pushing the forward and reverse back and forth and see if it does it then. It sounds like an oil way in the hydrostatic unit has a check valve stuck. Of course make sure that the fluid lever is up. Hope this will help you. donnyb60
