This is a memory error. First remove all your memory then put it back in again. If the error persists and you have more than one memory module, remove one at a time and see if it will boot. If you only have on module, then that module will have to be replaced.

Any help for beeping acer laptop when opening..thanks

g'day!

i would like to know how many and the kinds of beeps? there are what they call beep codes which indicates what kind of problem the your laptop is experiencing: here are the common ones:

0 beep = no power, loose card, short
1 short beep = normal,POST (Power On Self Test), your computer is ok
2 short beeps = POST error, review screen for error code.
continuous beeps = no power, loose card, short
repeating short beeps = no power, loose card, short
1 long, 1 short beeps = motherboard issue
1 long, 2 short beeps = video issue
1 long, 3 short beeps = video display circuitry
three long beeps = keyboard/keyboard card error
one beep, blank, incorrect display = video display circuitry

aside from the 1 short beeps, you need to take your laptop to a technician to have it looked at.

cheers mate!

As i turn on my pc, i hear 1long and 2short beep..and the light of the monitor power is blinking..what could be the problem? Hope that you can help me..TNX

Hello,
The beep code you are getting Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. Plan English - you have a bad video card or port. If your video output is on a PCI card, replace the card. If it's on the board, you will need to replace your motherboard.

2long 2short 2short beeps on mother board

You really need to go to the BIOS manufacturer's website to ensure the beep codes are the same but here is a link to a site that has some of the common codes with different BIOS manufacturers. To determine which BIOS you are running, when the computer boots up, it should be at the bottom of the screen as it initializes each device. It looks like a black screen with a bunch of lines popping up with the status of each device. The Bios will be down at the bottom left during this process. IF you have a splash screen instead you will need to interupt the bios boot process, either by hitting the DELETE button, or F1 or F2, depending on the manufacturer. Hope this helps. If not post back with the computer manufacturerer and model number and I will try and determine the step by step instructions to assist you.

Abit av8 bios post codes 8.3 - 8.6 - 9.c What is failing on boot ? I get one long beep followed by 4 short beeps. I have swapped video cards and reflashed the bios with no help. If I reboot 2 or 3...

I still did not find beep code that match your problem..

Anyways here are the common beep codes for your motherboard.. it might help you too.
1. No beep - no reaction, the mother board is dead, power supply problem, processor and or ram problem.
2. 1beep - board is working fine.
3. One long beep then it shuts down - cpu problem, your processor is not working or missing.
4. 1short beep - system boots normally
5. 2short beeps - CMOS setting error.
6. 1long 1short beep - dram error
7. 1long 2 short beep - video card or monitor not connected
8. 1long 3 short beep - keyboard error.
9. 1long 9short beep - ROM error
10. Long beep - memory card is missing or not connected
11. Short beep - power supply error
12 Four beeps - there is no fan detected on Fan1 or Fan2 header. make sure to attach or reset CMOS bios to factory setting.

Hope this gave you an idea of your problem..

Much appreciated if you rate this help..thanks..
