Question about Yamaha Audio Players & Recorders

4 Answers

I have a Yamaha Electronic Piano P-200 and the sound won't work. I think my daughter was messing around with the buttons. I know it isn't the speakers because the demo songs still play just fine. The screen doesn't say any error messages or anything. Like everything looks completely normal.. just no sound at all. Is there like a certain pattern of buttons I can press to reset it or just a reset button somewhere that I'm overlooking? Any help is appreciated.. thanks

I already did all that and I also un plugged it for a few minutes and then plugged it back in. I know sometimes that fixes computer problems but it didn't change anything with my piano.

OH my goodness! no offence but obviousely I already did that before asking for help. I can't find anything in the manual about it.

  • abbie_prosse Jun 24, 2009

I will just take it to someone. I know there is nothing wrong with anything physically. It is just a code or something that needs to be punched in. I googled yamaha for help and this is the site I got so I thought there were yamaha professionals working here. My mistake. With the 3 responses I received, I didn't get any information that was of any help at all so I hope I won't be paying for this service.

Try to ask a technician in your place to ensure the functionality of your device. It is better to have an actual person who can see the present situation to make sure in fixing the problem.

How do i reset the keyboard to factory settings? It sounds really weird right now

You can normally reset Yamaha keyboards by holding down the highest note while turning on. If you want to do a full factory reset see below - remember this may delete all songs etc you have saved to the keyboard memory.

I have a Casio digital piano and some keys stopped working after my daughter finished "cleaning" the piano. I'm thinking maybe a fuse needs to be replaced?? Some keys plays and some do not. Any

Old reply so hopefully it's fixed. Dust or hair can get through the gaps and land on or near the contacts of the electronic key sensors. To be on the safe side (rather than doing a diy) take it in to the technicians. They'll have it fixed in a jiffy

Yamaha CP33 Studio Piano won' turn on. Was thinking maybe the power chord overheated but really have no idea

Make sure you have the CORRECT adapter for the unit. It should say Yamaha on it and match the voltage and polarity. Thest the output with a meter. Common problems that happen to the piano itself causing the symptoms is a broken power connector or broken solder at the connector. Use a meter and verify the adapter is producing output. Expect the output to be a bot higher than listed when not plugged into the piano as there is no load on the adapter.

Although the keys have a weighted feel, this is not because of a system involving connection t hammers as in an acoustic piano. This is done mechanically, however, which would indicate a need for cleaning. If you have an authorized Yamaha service center in you area they would need to do the cleaning.

Yamaha P-200 electric piano does not have any

Plug in your ear phones to see if you can hear the sound that way. If not you are experiencing some internal failure in your integrated amp output.

In that case you will need to get authorised service.

Yamaha P-200 elec piano - when I press the keys, they kind of make clicking sounds like they need to be oiled...what should i do?

I have a Yamaha P200.

One thing I noticed is that it is the hardest electronic keyboard I have ever played. The action is pretty close to a real piano but it is the hardest action I have experienced.

Could you just be a bit out of practice or not recalling accurately what is was like to play it?

Or of course it could be gummed up with crud if it wasn't covered or in it's case while you weren't using it.

There is definitely a sound when the key come up after being played - you could call it a thump or a click I guess. Again it could be a crud issue as well.

Having it cleaned could be helpful.
