My weedeater won't run in 'run'.

My weedeater starts and runs great - in 'start'.

As soon as I pull the throttle and it switches to 'run', it dies on me.

Its only a year old and its done this since new.

Sounds like the carburetor needs adjusting. The owners manual should show you how to adjust the carburetor. If not, I would take this to the place of purchase and ask them to repair or replace it.
It should be under warranty for at least 2 years. I have had the same problem and when the carb would not adjust to run properly. I took it back and got a new one . This was at lowes and they were really great about it. If you decide to return it, clean it up real good.
In california we have different regs on outdoor power equipment and can adjust the idle only. The carbs are different for the rest of the US.
They can usually be adjusted, If not take it back. You deserve to get what you pay for without problems like this.

Weedeater dies when you open choke

After you start it and are in the second stage of the choke (half choke ) let it run for awhile until it warms a bit then try openning choke and going to full throttle.

Weedeater XT 85T wont run

Check to see if your feul line is cracked or it is drawing air . Check your clamps that hold the lines on . One other thing you can check is to see if any bolts are loose that hold the carb on . Best of luck Ed.

Generator will start and run easy, then just die.

Check for loose wiring connections, especially at the run or kill switch. Generators vibrate a lot so it could be as simple as something loose.
