Question about Canon PIXMA iP1600 Printer

Orange light flashing

I've just changed my printer cartridge, following the instructions given on these pages.  It fitted in OK but now after flashing the green light once, it flashes orange 5 times.  What have I done wrong?  I've tried turning it off and one again but it makes no difference.

Hi, My ip4500 printer has an orange light that is flashing five times. I have just changed the ink cartridges. I went online but cannot understand the instructions. Where is the reset button? Lance

for resetting follow these steps

Disconnect the power cable and connect it while holding down the power button

With the power button still down, press twice the "Cancel/Stop" red button, release the power button

The printes turns into a kind of factory mode...(wait for about 10 seconds, utils it says "Idle")

Press the ">" (next to the "OK" button) once."Shipping Mode 3′

Press the "OK" button.

Press "OK" again for "Without cleaning"

A test page will print..

Open the cover, like you are about to change the cartridges, disconnect the power cable again.

Take out both cartridges and dlose the cover.

Connect the power cable once again, Turn the printer on.

Now just put the cartridges back.

good luck, and do rate the solution if helped

A test page keeps on printing everytime the printer is switch on

The printer is printing alignment page. This will be printed if the printer was reset or if you have changed the ink cartridges. We need to complete the alignment process.

1. Place the printed page on the scanner correctly.
2. Press scan button on the printer.
3. The ON light will start blinking, wait until the ON/OFF light stops blinking.
4. Now the alignment is completed and it should not print anymore untill next cartridge change

Thank you

Left hand light flashing orange and printer wont

Check the following:
Make sure you have removed the seal on each cartridge.

Turn of Printer, open all shutters, front and back and close them firmly, firmly.

Make sure there is no paper jam.

Usually these are the immediate causes of this kind of scenario.

Then try to print again.

Canon i250, black text won't print, but ok with nozzle check

Canon i250. Instructions on this website solved the problem of flashing green and orange lights, but now the black won't print. Changed ink cartridges, but still no print. Did a diagnostic nozzle check, and the black DID print. What do I do now?

Changing a cartridge low in ink (less than 5%)

Please download the user's manual here: The instruction is on page 90. You should be able to open the cartridge cover if you follow the instruction.

Problem on a canon 3100

The Power Light Flashes Orange - Error Codes When an error occurs, the power light flashes orange. The number of orange flashes followed by a long green flash indicates the cause of the problem.
Two orange flashes: Out of paper, paper jam, or paper feed error
If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing.
Three orange flashes: Paper jam
If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing.
Four orange flashes: A tank inside the BJ cartridge (print head) is out of ink
Replace the empty BJ tank and press the Resume button to continue printing.
Five orange flashes: BJ cartridge is not installed properly
Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
Six orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is not installed
Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
Seven orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective
Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge.
Eight orange flashes: Waste ink absorber almost full
The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink that is consumed during print head cleaning. This error indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the Resume button to skip the error so you can continue printing.
The POWER light flashes orange and green alternately: Service error
A service error means the printer requires the attention of a qualified technician. Count the number of flashes. (You may be asked this information.)

After changing cartridge, printer won't print a full page, gets stuck and all lights are flashing

Some problem in Catridges, take the white petrol and clean the head of the catridge and try again.
