Question about Edimax BR-6104K Router (br6104k)
I have a problem in configuring my EDIMAX router with a new PLDT dsl plan because my DSL doesnt have a Username and Password. Ive tried manually typing the ip, subnet, gateway and dns server in the FIXED IP configuration of the router it works for me but when i turned off the modem and router for 2 hrs and turned it on again and wait for it to for 5mins to communicate with each other then itry to go to yahoo.com and there's no internet again. the call center agent told me that my DSL is an auto-connect plan so it doesnt have a username and password. can someone help me in setting the router? thank you
Try set the Edimax router to accept a Dynamic IP from the ISP - cause I guess they provide it to you changed everytime you disconnect.

If u have a pldt dsl connection which is always on there's no problem connecting to internet..because your router has all the capability to provide automatic ip addressing to all pc's connected to its lan port..even if you'll not configure your router if your router is set to default setting of DHCP enable sure you can access the internet...this is what you gonna do..configure your pc by running NETWORK SETUP WIZARD in the control panel and from there just follow the instruction on how to set your network..from the select connection method..choose this computer connects to the internet through a residential getway..if you are using a router then press next give the computer description and a computer name then press next..give a workgroup name..be sure that all your pc in the network should have the same workgroup name...let's say MSHOME or whatever name you want...then press next again then on the file and printer sharing choose turn on or turn off depending on what you would want it to be..i suggest choose turn off first anyway you will not use to share printer the first time...just turn it on later if you want...then press next again then next again t ready to apply network settings..then wait for ure pc to install necesarry files then choose JUST FINISH THE WIZARD..then press next again then you're done..press FINISH. that's all..reboot...then go to network connection and right click local area connection and press properties choose internet protocol TCP/IP then press properties choose OBTAIN AN IP AUTOMATICALLY then press ok and then press CLOSE that's all...then open yur browser and log on to yahoo and i'm sure you can get it. thanks
