Maytag dishwasher mdb7100aws is flashing clean-lightwash-heated dry

I have a Maytag MDB7100AWS which suddenly started blinking the following LEDs: Clean, Rinse Only, Regular Wash, Tough Scrub and Heated dry. Tried cycling the breaker, no help. Tried the key sequences in the troubleshooting sheet behind the kick panel, no help. Then happened to press the Drain/Off button twice. All LEDs went out and am now on my second successful load, fingers crossed. Suspect the control board got latched up somehow.

Replacing a thermostat on a dishwasher

you are most likely referring to item 16 in this diagram. You can order the part and replace it. This is the limiting thermostat which protects the unit from overheating.

However the heater thermostat is item 41 in this diagram. this controls the heater temperature.

Not sure about the rotary wheel at the bottom for the drain but the problem could be the rinse aid pump that has failed.

Check out this parts diagram, it may help

I'm looking for a tear down manual for the Maytag MDB7100AWS dishwasher. There is soap residue everywhere and it barely cleans anymore. I think I just need to give everything a good clean. Can you help?...

Before you go tearing into your dishwaher start with the basics. That would be inspecting the drain outlet and drain hose from the sink connection point all the way back to the pump outlet connection. Most of the time what happens is there is debris in the air-gap at the sink or the garbage disposal connection port gets clogged. Then because the dishwasher does not drain peoperly you end up with dirty dishes at the end of the cycle.

Here is the manual you were looking for:

http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16021814.pdf

Check your drain first.

There are other things like a broken pump impeller / housing or clogged wash arms that can cause the same symptom of soapy film on the dishes post cycle. Also the screen on the top of the motor pump assy can be covered with a film of food particles.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Kelly

Our Maytag MDB7100AWS Dishwasher fails, inconsistently, to drain.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

No power maytag quiet series mdb7600awq

Hi,

To my knowledge, there are no fuses in a Maytag MDB7600AWQ. Should you be interested, you can reference the electrical diagram here. Exploded diagrams and parts placement are here. Based on these probable causes of no power would be:
 • no supply from the outlet, circuit breakers have tripped;
 • any of the two (2) door switch is faulty/open;
 • defective controller board;
 • defective AC cord.
May I ask, have you tried resetting the circuit breakers?

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
