Question about Kodak EasyShare M1033 - black Digital Camera

1 Answer

My Kodak EasyShare M1033 will not auto-focus. I was using it on vacation with no issues for 5 days and all of a sudden it won't focus. I did online chat with the Kodak helpdesk but he had no clue. This is the 2nd Kodak camera I've had issues with.

Try to set the camera on auto mode
make sure that the flash is also set in auto
take pictures in different lightning condition out door and in door
if the problem still persist its either the lens assembly or the camera sensor is defective

You don't say anything about light conditions, target color, definition, contrast, and the many other things that can cause this.

Is your camera at fault? Maybe.

Take a look in these sites and many others like.

What does the AE icon mean?

It means its set for Auto Exposure. Unless you're going for fancy effects like a faded look or a washed out over exposed look, its generally best to leave it on auto instead of lowering or raising the exposure value (EV).
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks.

No, the M1033 cannot be used as a webcam.

That probably wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.

My m1033 camera will not focus and the lens is making a strange shaking noise....tried using air blower...does not help......

This will need to be repaired, The issue here is with the autofocus hence the lens is trying to autofocus but cannot, would never recommend a hair dryer. What needs to happend is bring this guy into a local camera shop to have it taken care of, hair dryer in this case will not work and could damage it further,

If you shop online, google the model camera info, find a place that sells it and under accessories they might sell them. Seems like they should standardize them, I have too many different ones.

My lens focuses only intermittenly

If you have the settings on AUTO the camera will automatically adjust to what it thinks will make the best picture.
Try and use the SCN.
You can also switch the flash on and off as you wish.

Sometimes my camera all of a sudden will only allow me to take one pic at a time in the sense i have to turn off cam to take another one . the screen says AF and when its like ...

AF means that the camera is Auto focusing.
If the image isn't sharp the camera will not let you take the photo right away.
I suggest that you use another SCN when this happens.

All pictures are blurred and when looking at screen its blurred

Your camera's Focus mode may be set on Macro Selectable in which case the Auto Focus Range will be "wide: 0.07–0.7 m, tele: 0.4–0.7 m (macro AF)" as quoted in the specifications from www.kodak.com web page for the EasyShare M1033. While this setting is great for a close-up of a flower, anything more than a meter (about one yard) away will be blurred unless you reset your Auto Focus mode back to "normal AF" or "landscape mode"
