TV may be on the wrong input and that will give you a blue screen. When you turn the TV on and the screen starts lighting up it should show on the screen what input the tv is on. If it is not on correct input change input with the TV remote or buttons on the tv. If it is on the correct input try a power cycle on the cable box, just unplug the cable box power cord for a few seconds and then plug it back in. If neither of these solve the problem describe how the cable box is connected to the tv.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

SOURCE: Mitsubishi vs 5051 rear projection tv sound but no picture

No video but good audio Mitsubishi VS5051. Check R509 and R 519, 100 ohm resistors located on the main PCB near the flyback transformer. Also bad connections on any of the yokes and the vertical output IC will cause the same problem.

I found this online somewhere and it cleared my problem.

(my problem was a blue screen that said my input was locked enter in your code using the 10 key pad. Both inputs were locked, I used the steps below and it cleared it. We are now watching a dvd for the first time in months!) Thank you Bob Waterman whoever you are!)

Or . Depending on which remote is being used
Press the TV mode button at the top.

2. Turn on the TV and using the SCAN buttons (or 10 KEY FAD) and the INPUT

screen will be instructions on how to change the current LOCK status (if
unlocked use the ENTER button to lock, or if locked use the CANCEL button to

locked, or, use the INPUT button to select the external inputs that are
locked.

7. At each locked channel or input press the CANCEL button.

This chassis has bad capacitors on the PWB,FMt, DM and the other boards that need to be replaced. They are all jamicon capacitors 1000uf and larger there are roughly 10 in the set that need to be replaced. Let me know if you need further instructions on this model.

SOURCE: mitsubishi ws65613 no picture or sound, blue screen only

Good day, Bgchzy;
This model is known for the tubes leaking fluid, glucose, on the PCB. Check the front of the chassis for said fluid, it may be only a drop, so look closely.
To fix, after TV has no power, try cleaning the board with cleaner and brush, let dry. I suspect this because of multi unrelated problems.

Sounds like a bad connection to whatever you have it connected to (cable box, dvd player, etc). Check the connection and then replace cables.

The screen shows ''Weak Signal'' and no picture, even though audio is coming through from both the Cable DVR box and Blue-Ray player. The cable box connects to the TV with an HMI cable - all five TV inputs...

Mine did the same thing once. I think all I did was hit the setup on the remote, and let it run back through all the channels and then it worked just fine.

I hope this works for you.

Hdmi inputs stopped working

It sound like the cable box or the Blue ray player is set to high - such as 1080P when the set is only rated at 720 - try scaling the output down and see if that helps

Sorry to here about your problem! This is the time of year I used to get tons and tons of sets, stereos ,games, and vcrs in for repair. On your panasonic it seems that maybe the surge took out the tuner portion or the power supply. It sould cost aprox. 200 bucks or so for a new tuner. Im sure your aware that homeowners will cover almost all repair after the deductable. Good Luck
