HP L7580 All in One Device driver reinstall on reconnecting thru USB cable

Hi

I have recently bought a HP L7580 All in One and have installed the software and evrything is working ok on my Vista Home basic 32 bit laptop. Every time I unplug the USB cable(printer) and then reconnect all the device drivers reinstall. This take more than 20 minutes.

After this installlation the printer works ok. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks for your reply. When the printer is not connected or switched off, the drivers are not visible in device manager. Once I coonect the printer thru USB cable the device manager automatically get installed and aftert this when I try to update the drivers it says you have the best drivers installed. Am I missing something here..

    I have a HP all in one Deskjet F4140 and the same problem. I have to install it everytime i unplug it.

    hey I was givin a Lexmark X1195 but they didn't give me the driver CD. they have moved and either lost it or tossed it. what can I do?

Everytime I turn on my home computer my HP Photosmart C4180 reinstalls everytime. I constantly have (Copy 1) (Copy 2) etc each time and have to keep changing the most recent as my default. Anyone know how I can solve this PLEASE!?

This is a common problem with HP and canon printers and scanners..However dont waste your time uninstalling and installing all of the software..Just go to device manager and update driver it will hardly take 30 seconds..

    Yes you should insert the CD ROM of you scanner and then click on update driver(You will need to have your Printer connected to update the driver and thats obvious).You can also avoid inserting CD everytime by copying only the driver files to a folder and browsing from that when you wanna update the driver.

Installed HP deskjet 890c printer to new windows 7 laptop - purchased new usb printer cable - will not print from laptop but will print test page from printer


Before we conclude that cable is faulty, we have few things that need to be checked.

  • In the device manager check for "Other Devices" and expand it, you may see an device with exclamation sign on it. Right click and uninstall the device.
  • Disconnect the printer USB and reconnect it back.
  • Windows 7 detects the hardware and automatically installs the correct driver.
Note: When you connect the USB cable to the printer, and then to the computer, Windows 7 activates Windows Update. Windows Update searches online for the most recent product driver on the Windows Update site. If the online driver is more recent than the driver stored in Windows 7, the computer downloads and installs the updated driver.The Windows Update process takes place automatically. Therefore, you might not notice that the process is in progress.
If you dont see any notification on connecting the printer, try plugging to different USB port.
If non if these works, replace the cable.

Hi, I have a HP Deskjet F2483 (F2400 series). I'm using "Add a device" tool to install its driver, but it does not detect my device, although I turn it on and plug its USB cable. It shows the message...


You have to totally uninstall the printer, go to HP.com, download the lateset software and follow install directions exactly, meaning NO plug and play.

When installing the software it comes up with,,, "can not find device"


Don’t connect the printer usb cable first
1st you install the driver disc which is come along with the printer and when the software prompt you to connect the cable then plug the usb cable and follow the instruction.
Also I suggest you to change the usb port and the cable also still if you facing the problem follow these steps, right click on my computer and go to properties then hardware in that click on device manger and check there is any other device is listed if it is there just remove it and click for scan for hardware changes when he prompt for driver reinstall the driver cd.

I have a HPOfficejet 6310 All in One - I get the "No Scan Optiions Refer to device documentation when I hit the scan buttom...how do I set up the scan process?


Hi,

You may need to uninstall and reinstall the software as per below procedure.

UNINSTALL THE SOFTWARE:

  • Unplug the USB cable. {caution - Do not reconnect the cable untill the onscreen prompt to connect while reinstalling}
  • Click Start > Control Panel and double click "Add or Remove programs".
  • In the list of installed programs, Click HP products and click "Remove".
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to remove the software.
  • After its done, restart the computer.

REINSTALL THE SOFTWARE:

  • After restart, insert the Software CD and follow the instruction to install.
  • At, one particular step you will be prompted to connect the USB Cable; turn the printer ON and then connect it.
  • Allow the installation to continue and then restart the computer and try scanning.

Wireless driver uninstalls itself after restarts


if it's a usb-dongle, the driver's will be reinstalled every time you reconnect the device. the drivers are on your computer, but have to reconnect with the network adapter when it's reconnected. if the problem is the same after a reboot without disconnecting the network adapter, then there is either a problem with the usb-device, or a driver management problem in windows.
if the usb-device works without problem on another computer, the you need to reinstall windows.

reconnect your printer usb cable yto other usb port on cpu .also check your usb cable.if it is ok .then reinstall hp software and drivers.

Driver problem on Vista w/HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One


This issue occurs when the drivers are not installed properly.

Once remove the USB cable from the laptop and insert the all-in-one CD and click on add a device and follow the on screen instructions and connect the USB cable when it prompts at the middle and complete the process. Then restart the computer and then check for the result.

HP Solution Center reinstalls itself on every reboot.


We experience this issue if the drivers are not isnatlled properly. Once remove the USB cable from the computer if the all-in-one connected using USB and if it is network then no need to remove the ethernet cable. Now insert the CD in the computer and click on add a device option and follow the onscreen instaructions, in the miidle it will prompt to connect the USB cable then connect the USB cable and complete the process. This will resolve the issue.

Getting error when trying to fax or scan


The L7580 is not meant to be set up as a scanning device on a network. This unit can only function properly as a USB connected device to have all the features work. Also, for the software to install with out problems, all other All in One software fro previous HP printers need to be removed. Once we did that and did clean install using USB only then did it work.

Can´t install my photosmart C3180 on my Windows XP.


I recently have the same problem with windows XP ( when I connected the printer the message USB device unknown message appeared) Before wasting your time unistalling and reinstalling driver, I strongly recommend this:

Change the USB cable for a new one that works properly for USB 2.0 FULL SPEED . What does it mean ?. Well if you have an older cable is very probably that it doesn't work well at USB2.0 full speed (480Mbps) because it's not properly shielded, if you buy a new one check specifications on the box to see if it is prepared for 480Mbps. Testings in other PCs is not relevant unless you're ABSOLUTLY SURE that USB ports are working at full speed in those PCs

I changed old cable for a new one ( Belkin), and no more problems.
