When I connect my camera to the computer I don't get a popup window asking what I want to do with the camera. When I first got the camera there was no problem but after getting a new HD and reinstalling Windows XP and the Canon softwareI I can't seem to get any pictures off the camera. I do get the sound from Windows when I plug the camera into the usb port and turn it on that it recognizes somehting is there but then nothing else happens. Also when you turn the camera off Windows makes the sound that something is being closed or turned off. Help Please!!
Thanks, Bruce
1) click on start
2) click run
3) type " devmgmt.msc " in the open box and click OK make sure camera is connected and on in the playback mode.
4) look for " Imaging Devices "
5) click on the + in front of it and you should see the camera.
6) click it one time to highlight it ( not open it)
7) now right click and choose delete or uninstall
8) it will warn you just click OK Now camera in uninstalled
9) close all windows and turn camera off. then turn camera back onn if will find camera and give you options you are looking for

Hi, I know I had voided my warranty, but it has long been over anyway. I had open up the side of the camera ( where the lcd screen is attached ) My screen first went grayish, as I put most of the srews back in the screen went black. The shutter works fine and I can take pictures take out the sd card and view on my computer. But I need the LCD screen to use for extreme close ups wich was working great. I have also noticed if screws are to tight a PSP screen would do the same. Can anyone tell me what I should do? -- My father told me once that if it's not broken dont fix it... Should have listened. Thanks to anyone that can help. Swede00
