Question about AT&T 1475 Cordless Phone
A bit of a long shot, but try reversing the polarity of the line - swap the red and green wires in the jack. Your new provider may have reversed the line (or un-reversed it if the ATT had it backwards).

The lady should also tell you how many used and available mailboxes you have. I believe they came in 10 20 and 40 box sized and 2 4 or 6 ports.
