Question about BenQ PB6100 Multimedia Projector

3 Answers

No power Hi  I have a benq pb6100.  I travel with the projector.  It was working fine at one one presentation then at the next it didn't work at all.  I get no lights no fan nothing.  Would a burnt out or broken bulb cause a no power problem.  I checked the cord it has continuity.  I checked to see if power was coming through the power supply cord and it OK.  I pulled and checked the continuity at the bulb and it showed no continuity from the back of the bulb to the wire going into the side.  I am not sure if these bulbs are similar to incadesent bulbs that will show continuity or not.  I want to be sure the bulb is bad before replacing it or even if a bad bulb will cause the problem.  thanks Larry

Re: no power

Thanks fellas,
I called to find out about repairs. Its not under warranty so the initial "check it out" fee plus shipping would be over $100 then if it needed and parts the price goes up plus labor so I just decided to buy new. I think I found the problem. When I opened up the case two tiny screws fell out. I think they probably came loose and floated around on the board and shorted something out. anyway not worth the expense to see if I can fix it. Thanks anyway

Re: no power

Well, ours has a small crater in a chip on the PCB (power control board).  I'm sending in, hopefully to be repaired under warranty.

Re: no power

Bulb is definitely not cause of your problem.Normally lamp light will blink when it's defective.Dead means PSU problem .Some projectors have a overheat switch which switches off supply till manualy reset, you need to open the projector.

I have connected my Toshiba laptop to a benq PB6210 beamer but cannot get presentation on the screen. I need help

Hi there,

1) Turn off the BenQ power, before connecting your VGA cable to the Toshiba laptop.

2) Once your laptop recognises the BenQ unit, you then need to tell your laptop to send an output signal to the BenQ - you do this by pressing your 'screen output' button (this is usually one of the function keys and you may need to hold the key for 1sec). The output function key can choose either single VGA output, or both laptop screen + VGA output.

My Benq pb6100 projector needs a ''shake'' on switching on to run

Hi I am Vortash possibly a loose plug or the bulb housing is not secure and the cut off switch is not contacting .. loose fuse .. dry joints o loose component .. one thing is for sure keep shaking it
and your going to kill your bulb ?. During the arc on the lamp it builds up carbon deposits if they break loose they get hot in the bulb under working conditions against the glass and sometimes fracture it ?. don't shake your your unit unless you can afford to replace this at between $400 and $800 i bet that repair would be a more economic solution hope this helps Regards Vortash

How to hook up BenQ PB6100 Digital Projector to a lap top?

Use a standard "video cable" that is used to connect a desktop to a monitor. Your lap-top will also have a similar video out - this is a blue colored outlet jack on your ap-top with three rows of 5-pin holes. The BenQ also has a similar blue receptor jack almost next to the place where you plug in the mains power cable on the rear of the unit.

Blue screen

Hi Guys,

I recently struck this issue with one of our PB6100's. To resolve I did the following:
  2. Under the Fan menu select "More Options". You should then be in the "Fac7 Submenu".
  3. Select "Hard Reset". Note that this will reset the lamp hours also!
  4. Power off & then on again. Test input.

The above worked for me. Hope it helps.

How to Use remote to forward slides of PP presentation

Hi Carolyn

You'll see that the Projector came with a USB cable. The USB cable should be connected from your PC to your Projector and this will enable you to flick through your slides with the normal BenQ remote control.

Thanks for using Fixya !

PB6100:No picture display

The projector needs to be turned on first, then connect it to the laptop. If the picture still does not show at that point, press the FN and the LCD keys on your laptop at the same time. This should work.

BenQ PB6100

Hi there

If your Projector is not working in colour , take out the lamp and check if the colour wheel is broken.

If not broken you will have to replace the Mainboard.

Super video and composite wont work with progressive dvd

Hi there

Right next to the Mainboard sits the inputboard where all your video inputs go into. This small board might need replacement.

Very cheap to have replaced.
