Is the video card any good? Chances that all three monitors are defective are slim.

SOURCE: No Video Signal

If you can't use the onboard video and it does POST or the PCI-E video card does show anything, most likely the motherboard is toasted. Apparenty gateway uses real poor quality power supplie and motherboards.

I have the same system, it powers on, but nothing. All I can assume is that the motherboard is bad.

SOURCE: No Video Signal

Try resetting the bios. On the motherboard there is a battery that looks like a watch battery. Remove the battery, then replace it again. (make sure the computer is unplugged from the wall socket when you do this)

Does this work?

the following connections available to connect ur computer to an TV:

S-Video output: If you have video card(external u will have this), you require an s-video cable and you connect s-video out of your computer to the s-video int of our TV.

TV-OUT: if you have video card(external u wil have this) you you require an coxial cable and you have to connect TV-out of your computer to TV-IN of our TV(it is place where cable connection goes from your cable operator)

DVI-D: if you have video card(external u will have this) you require an DVI-D cable you haveto connect DVI-D out of your computer(a white 15-pin port which looks like VGA port) ....

VGA: it is the port on your computer which is only used to connect to your computer but not to your TV or LCD(strictly)

If the monitor is hdmi you will have to make sure it has speakers if not you wont have any audio. So a converter box will be needed.

How do I install my monitor?

Plug up the power cord to the monitor. Plug up the video cable to the monitor. If your monitor has speakers, and you want to use them, then plug in the audio jack. You don't need to do this is your video cable is HDMI, since sound is carried on the HDMI cable. DVI and VGA video cables will not carry the audio signal. Take the audio and video cables and attach them to the PC. The audio jack goes into the green plug-in. Turn on the monitor. Turn on the computer. The computer will automatically find the monitor.

What is the best way to connect 2 computers to this monitor

If you have two separate computers for different purposes, such as personal and work use, you may find it convenient and necessary to connect both to a single monitor. Many monitors have dual inputs, making such a connection simple. However, you might need a keyboard, video and monitor switch to accomplish this task if the monitor lacks a second input. Dual Inputs
Step 1 Examine the back of your monitor for the presence of dual video inputs, such as a single VGA and DVI or HDMI output.
Step 2 Connect the VGA cable to one computer. Plug the other end of the cable to the matching input on the monitor. Rotate the retaining screws until tight at both ends of the cable.
Step 3 Plug the DVI or HDMI cable into the back of the second computer. Insert the other end into the monitor's digital video input. Screw down the retaining screws if you're using DVI.
Using a KVM Switch
Step 1 Ensure both computers are turned off. Place the KVM switch on your desk where it is within convenient reach.
Step 2 Locate the video output port on the back of the KVM switch. Plug a VGA cable into this port. Plug the other end of the VGA cable into the monitor.
Step 3 Plug the VGA monitor outputs from each computer into the inputs on the back of the KVM switch. Tighten the retaining screws down for each connected VGA cable on the computers and the KVM switch.
Step 4 Plug the keyboard and mouse cables into their respective outputs on the KVM switch. Plug each set of keyboard and mouse cables from their ports on each computer into the matching inputs on the KVM switch. Plug each cable in sequentially to avoid mixing them up between machines.
Step 5 Double-check that the mouse, keyboard and monitor cables leading from each computer all correspond to the right machine. Plug the KVM switch's power cord into a nearby AC outlet or power strip.
Step 6 Turn the computers and monitor on to verify the connections are correct.

Required Items

  • VGA cable
  • DVI or HDMI cable
  • KVM switch
  • Power strip (optional)

Help Adding a 2nd Monitor to ALL-IN-ONE

Try using a VGA to VGA cable or a dvi to dvi cable because dvi-d and hdmi tend to lack the necessary pins to be converted to an analogue signal. A hdmi to dvi cable may also work

What cord do I need to connect my 1810 gateway monitor to my tower

Your either going to need VGA or DVI. You need to check the back of your computer and monitor to see which type of connection you have. Then plug in the appropriate cable.

How do I hook up the moniter to the CPU?

First figure out what output video the computer has. These days it can be VGA, DVI, or HDMI. Then determine what video inputs are on the monitor (same list). Then plug in the desired cable. Many monitors only come with the VGA cable. If you do not have a VGA port on the computer you would need a DVI to VGA adapter to use that cable. Otherwise buy the DVI or HDMI cable. (DVI to HDMI cables exist if you have HDMI but no DVI on the monitor and only DVI on the computer. However, you need to check your video specs closely. A Single link DVI is different than Dual-link DVI and the cables are not interchangeable.)

Once the data and power cords are plugged in, power up the monitor and then the computer. The computer should find the new hardware and install (or ask for a disc to install) the drivers.

I hope this helps.

When attached via HDMI, monitor goes to "sleep". When using VGA cable, no problems. Gateway website has ZERO drivers for this monitor. Running Windows 7 Ultimate x64

First shut down the pc and then plug in new monitor then boot up and see if windows 7 will auto find the monitor.

is this a single display or are you using 2 monitors, i had 2 monitors and used the other to change the display on mine when i had this problem i am also using windows 7 and reboot usually fixes display problems because it wont see old monitor any more and detect the new one.

also update any video drivers you have like nvidia or ati(catalyst controll center)

ATI Radeon HD 4350 will not display red.

Hello,

It could be a problem with the monitor cable.

Try unplugging and re-plugging the PC to monitor cable (VGA cable)

If possible, Use a different monitor to ensure that your video card is working fine.
