I have a 2003 a Cadillac CTS my key is stuck in my ignition so my power to the car is still on and i can start the car i just cant get the ignition to cut the power and give me my key back

Its the BCM mounted on the passenger side valve cover. Yes the body control mod is on the motor. The coil pack starts to fail, then emits a higher then norm electromagnetic fields and takes out the BCM bolted directly on the top of the passenger side coils. Under the column there is a small plastic screw that you remove then push up on the button to release the key.

Look for a plastic plug directly under key in bottom of column. Under plug is a switch take small philips screwdriver & push on switch while turning key backward to take out.

eventually you will have to change the keys and cylinder.also have the key lock wiring checked!
