There's dust inside that made the unit not work since. i blew out the dust with air and now it works properly, but there's still dust indise the optics. i need to disassemble the unit in order to clean it.

thanks all, but i've already blown it out with the top off. the case is tricky to take apart and i don't want to damage it. i need to get further inside. of course i've checked the infocus website.

When unit was turned off last night it "popped". Now it does not come on and the power light flashes at a rate of 1 flasher per second.

the lamp blew. take it out and see if there is shattered glass inside. if there is, replace the lamp and blow the dust out of the projector. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expel. the lamp probably overheated and shattered. otherwise, it was at the end of it's life (usually 3000 hours).

How do i find out if i need a new lamp for my infocus 4805. when i turn it on the fan blows for a cpl secs and the green light blinks a few times, but i dont get anything saying the lampis out

when you power it on, do you hear a high-pitched whir? if not, you need to replace the colorwheel. it's also the colorwheel if you hear a buzzing instead. if the colorwheel does not spin, the lamp won't come on. if the colorwheel is ok, check the lamp. is the screen on the side of the lamp clogged with dust? is the inside of the lamp bulging, spotted, or foggy? if so, replace the lamp and clean out your projector with canned air. dust blocks air flow and keeps in the heat. this shortens the life of your lamp and projector. if you do need the colorwheel replaced, you could get the part from an infocus service center and do it yourself, or send it in for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

What could the problem if the image is dim when projected

check the lamp first. if the inside has bulges, black spots, or fogging, replace the lamp. if that's ok, clean out the projector with canned air. the dust sticks to some surfaces. if the dust coated the colorwheel and the heat from the lamp baked it on, you'll need to replace the colorwheel. that might be what's making it dim. you could get the parts from an infocus service center and do it yourself, or send it in to them and have them do the repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

I left my infocus x3 on ovrnight wnet down this morning it was shut down when i start it up fans and everything work normal but the bulb doesn't on and it is a fairly new bulb it have had the x3 for about...

it's not recomended to run constant for a day or longer. it may have overheated the lamp. especially if you've never cleaned it out before. take canned air and blow out any dust. but first remove the lamp and see if there is dust blocking the side vent. if there is a lot, the lamp overheated and prematurely blew.

clean it out. use canned air and blow the dust out of it. sometimes after many overheating issues, the temperature sensor needs to be replaced. but first clean it out and make sure the fans work well. if they spin slowly, replace them.

it's the fan. if it won't spin full power, it can't cool down the projector and it'll shut down. there are 2: 60mm (part # 526-0153-00) and 80mm (526-0152-00). both can be purchased from infocus or an infocus service center.

Infocus LP820 - Turns on for 30sec then shuts down

This could be one of two problems I have seen with another model Infocus projector (they are very good projectors though)

The first is the video input. Make sure it is attached correctly at both ends of the cable.
The second, remove the dust covers and blow them out. The problem can arrise if the temperature sensor detects the air inside the unit is getting too hot. If you can see the sensor when the dust covers are off (it will look like a little lump of goo on the end of a wire) then just give it a wipe as well. If dust settles on those it can cause incorrect temps to be reported.

Hope that solves your poblem =)
