However, best is reset the device. Try soft reset first, if not sufficient, try hard reset.
Soft reset : Hold mode and lap/reset for 10 seconds, then release. Hold start button then for 10 seconds, device should restart.
Hard reset : Hold mode and start button. 10seconds after, still holding them, pulse press lap/reset button, then release all. You should get a screen asking to confirm reset to factory settings. You'll loose all data by this, but device should restart with normal behavior.
there is a hard reset button under the battery cover on the side where the stylus goes. it should be able to restart your device fully and completely, is some cases you may need to leave the battery in and charging for at least a day or even use a friend's battery , because some glitch certain devices just refuse to boot and also to charge the battery if they somehow recognize the battery then in my case I use my wife's treo battery to be able to get mine jumpstarted. whenever I experienced this after a while I was able to switch back to the original battery and then the device was finally charging that one. weird but true, so we switched to android based devices since. but I remember this issue clearly.
Hi. I assume that you plugged in your original battery after it was out a while. When your device's battery is drained, all the data in your device may be resetted (changes according to your backup battery's condition). So you should first try to plug it into AC power source for a couple of hours without touching it (Let the battery become usable enough). Then, your device should open without any error, but it may take a while because it will install the Operating System from ROM. In most cases, pluging out your battery won't destroy any internal parts of your device, it may just reset it to factory default settings. If there is an error, here is how you can hard reset your device:
HP iPAQ rx3715 Hard Reset: 1. Hold down the Mobile Media button (on the far left) and the iTask button. 2. Then press down the reset button with the styles for a few seconds until the screen goes dark.
3. To turn on your HP iPAQ after your hard reset, either press the reset button again, or plug it into an AC power source.
Hope this helps.
Try changing ur battery if it doesnt help then do this
try pressing the reset button near the charging port on the pda if it doesnt work try to hard reset it as follows
try this if it helps
hard rest factory default settings = when ur set is switched off press both buttons call and end key and then press power button on upside of pda for like 5 sec screen will appear asking to format all data take out ur card if u dont want to format that now confirm by pressing the centre action button in 4 side joystick and go
if not solved then go to www.htc.com for latest Rom update downlaod and update
other wise check xda forums for software dead HTC http://forum.xda-developers.com/
There is an ISSUE with the DEAD ZUMO, however some of the are solved, and some need to be shipped back.
There are a couple of options.
1) remove the battery, keep power button pressed for a few minutes. install battery, try.
2) fully recharge the battery with the wall charger, try
3) With a fully charged battery, press and hold the + button and press the power button(hard reset).
4) hold thumb firmly on top left of touch screen and hold power button till it switches on(hard reset).
5) Try a different battery (fully charged)
6) Ship it to Garmin
The easiest solutions are easily overlooked.
1. Check your charger; a cheap multimeter will do for the voltage check. If the voltage (dc) written on the back of the charger is what you get at the plug, go to (2),if not, change your charger, problem solved. 2.You either have a messed up screen or battery. 3. Check the voltage at your battery terminals after charging the battery for like 1hr. If you do not get a resonable read; 2-5v ,just trash the battery and head for the nearest shop to get a fresh one.In case your battery reads okay, your screen or worse, one of the components on the board of the set has gone kaput.
