Guardian has the system programmed to answer so the can program it from their office when the bill isn't paid or to disconnect the monitoring..Usally it will answer after 9 rings,it has an answer machine bypass that works like this: someone calls the house and it rings a couple times then someone else calls right back it will give the data tones..Try it call your number and let it ring a couple times then hang up and call back and you will hear the data..Call and tell them you want the remote programming disabled..

Most modern alarm systems allow "downloading" of programming changes through your phone line. The signal for the alarm system to answer is to call the home and allow the phone to ring once or twice then immediately call back at which time the alarm panel will answer with a "handshake" tone then wait for a response. That's probably what's happening. Calling back repeatedly CAUSES the problem. The solution is to turn off the downloading capability in the systems programming.

Your system has been programed by your alarm company for remote programing by their techical department. They can access your system to change codes, reset your system's time/date and do remote diagnostics. Most security system manufacturers allow this remote access by having the security system answer the telephone after so many rings, the security system then picks up and waits for a frequency tone from the security dealer's computer. Once this occurs the dealer can access your system. Your dealer may have to change the program settings if this is causing interference. A second possibility is do you have remote access to your system? Some systems have the ability for the home owner to remotely access their system from any outside telephone. This allows the customer to arm/disarm their system while away from home. This could be causing your problem.
