Jumpy / Schrolling Picture...?

My problem started last night. The picture on the screen started "jumping" almost like the cameraman was running when filming? Now the picture "schrolls" a bit down the screen and then back up. The picture on the right seems a bit blurry at times too. The TV is about 4 years old, but it's only been used for the last 2. Are there any suggestions?

That was the first thing I looked for. Unfortunately it does not have any vertical / horizontal adjustments. I cannot find a manual on it either. I was just hoping that I wouldn't have to buy a new TV. I thank you for your suggestions.

I have a Akai PT5492S and the picture is scrolloing right to left verry rapidly. This happened after a relocation. I have a good pip image. the menu comes on and does not scroll with the rest of the
images. i also have an adjustment issue with a black curved bar on the top and bottom. what can I do?

This is a problem of synchronization.  are there any adjusting knobs in the tv set (vertical hold adjust) if  yes you can try but if none maybe consult a technician.

I have a 57 in toshiba rear projection, picture just started jumping and went out, if you put it on another imput for gaming the picture is there but is rounded and is jumpy could you tell me what is wrong...

Possibly not repairable, because many problems are related to a board called the "hyper" board, which is mostly no longer available.-- Most picture problems other than convergence or a bad tube, which doesn't sound like yours.

Jumpy picture

If this set uses a picture tube then your problem may be in the vertical deflection circuit. Also an unstable power supply will cause this problem. Stargazer

Jumpy Picture on Hitachi 55FX48B

On older Hitachis the most common jumpy picture is loose connections on the vertical output IC. If you can tap on the main board and get it to act up then this is most likely the situation. I believe the location is IC401 and is located toward the front of the set on the signal panel. Not too tough to repair if thats all it is.
