sounds like you blew more than one fuse.
check the live feed to the dome light, then check the earth return through the door switch, make sure it switches. if no earth return you must check wiring and switch. if no live, go back to fuse boxes.

I have a 2002 Explorer as well. It mite be that the keyless entry box needs 2 be replaced. I had a similar problem with the door ajar thing and sum other lighting issues and that was the problem. Got it fixed and now I have no problems. The part costs like $25 but the labor, idk. A family member did it 4 me. Hope that helps. Good luck.
