The "correct" key sometimes works perfectly fine and will correct mistakes, and sometimes it will not correct anything that has been typed. however, if I were to type something new and "correct" it, it works fine. But once it has "overlooked" the area that needs to be corrected, there is no way to correct it. Since it works sometimes I've ruled out that it is a hardware issue. I'm using this typewriter to cut checks, so I'm getting really sick of having to void them all the time.

Your machine is working properly, I am sorry to tell you that your machine does NOT
have that function. This is the
difference between Shift Lock and Caps Lock. 1) Shift Lock is
the traditional upper case used since the oldest mechanical typewriters 2) Caps Lock
(what you want) works like a computer, where you get upper case Alphas and
numbers. Brother does
include this feature on some models, but I am sorry to say not yours. If this helps
you, PLEASE log back on to this webpage and leave comment. It's nice to know that
I am helping someone and not just wasting my time.
