Dear expert:
I was turning on my desktop (presario 5000), when I had a power outage. After that I tryed to start the computer and now goes on a infinite cycle of booting. I am even able to see the xp logo the loading bar, and then turns off itself and starts again... and again and again. What I should do? Thanks
Make sure your operating system hasn't gone corrupt,in case if this is the concern,
choose safe mode with command prompt and try to restore the system
by typing the following command
C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe
if that doesnt work
try booting the computer with the operating system disc snd do a parellel installation of the Operating System
in case if the issue persists revert on this page
First, eject all floppy disks and CD's (they can have images on them that tell the computer to reboot...) and try it again. If that doesn't work, you probably need to go to boot settings and configure them. Usually, when it starts booting, it will display the logo and it will have at the very bottom, "Press F2 for boot menu" or "Press F12 for boot menu". Then once your on the boot menu change the boot up device to HDD, and try that. Or at the bottom, it'll say that one button should reset everything, press that if changing it to HDD didn't work. Maybe these steps will work for you... if not then maybe your motherboard's having problems.
