Re: wireless Logitech mouse

Go to logitech first if you haven't already after a month and download the software for your specific mouse. Problem should be solved.

Can I use a Wireless mouse without the USB thing?

No Lena, I am afraid you can't and if you can't find that little USB bit, the mouse is just a paperweight. The mouse sends signals to that little USB thing which is a receiver for the signals from the mouse.

The mouse often has a little storage indent in the bottom of the mouse to store the receiver, so could someone have removed it from the computer stored it for you? On my Logitech mouse, the indent is under the battery cover. It sounds like you have two computers, so check both for the receiver.

Why has my wireless computer mouse stopped working

Some things to try to fix the problem:
  • Take out and replace the USB dongle for the wireless mouse
  • Reboot your computer
  • Replace the batteries in the mouse
  • You may have interference of the wireless signal between the mouse and computer. This could be a radio, washing machine, etc
  • Your mouse may just be dead. Try it in another computer to verify.

My logitech wireless mouse is not working. the s/n is lzb34356296

1. Try putting in new batteries to the mouse.
2. Connect the mouse to the computer by pressing the button on the bottom of the mouse AND the mouse USB connector at the same time.
3. Try another mouse to see if the logitech mouse is the issue.
3a. If the other mouse works, then the logitech mouse is dead. You can usually send eWaste to a nearby computer store or general recycling center.

Hi there,
Underneath the mouse and the keyboard will be buttons labeled "Connect", you will need to resync with the receiver plugged into your computer. Press the connect button on each device in turn and it will attempt to resync.
If this does not work the next thing is to test with fresh batteries, however it is unlikely that both the keyboard and the mouse would run out at the same time.
Finally try with the receiver right next to the keyboard/mouse, sometimes other devices can interfere with wireless signals (WiFi networks, microwaves, vacuum cleaners etc...).
Good luck!

The wireless keyboard and mouse are not working.

  • Check to ensure that the wireless receiver is plugged into your computer. Press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the receiver to attempt reconnecting your mouse and keyboard to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use Bluetooth, ensure that your computer's Bluetooth is active and detects the mouse and keyboard.
  • Check to see if the keyboard and mouse are turned on. If the power indicator lights on the keyboard and mouse are not green, press the "Power" button to turn the keyboard and mouse on.
  • Check the batteries of the mouse and keyboard. If the batteries are dead, replace them with fresh batteries and reconnect the mouse and keyboard to the computer by pressing the "Connect" button on the bottom of the wireless receiver attached to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use rechargeable batteries, let the batteries recharge before using the device again.
  • Uninstall and reinstall your wireless keyboard and mouse drivers. Sometimes, the Logitech drivers are at fault for a bad connection. Use the Control Panel to uninstall the old drivers, then visit the Logitech website and install the latest drivers for your keyboard and mouse.
  • Search the Logitech Support Database. If your keyboard and mouse are still failing to function properly, visit the Logitech Support website and browse the support page for your product for specific solutions.

Logitech LX8 will not work

When you pllugged in the receiver, did you push the little button on it?
Once you did that, did you turn the mouse over and push the little "connect" button? I'm assuming, of course, that you put new batteries in it!
Also, I'm assuming that the USB port is working.
You could always go into the device manager and see if the device shows up. If it does, delete it and try to connect it again.
If all that fails, you have a dead mouse.
