Nintendo ds lite microphone doesnt work

Doh. Wish I read this before I bought a headset. But if the mic does not work, the headset apparently doesnt help. If your under warranty, contact Nintendo. If not, I think we're out of luck unless you want to shell out $75

we tried to clear the ds but it wouldnt work so we took it back to game and they gave me a new one and a warranty as well :)

do you have a menu in the game where the mic sensitivitey can be changed? maybe that's the problem. or you spit in it and it's broken now.

Go to Best Buy, they fixed my DS mic for five bucks.....CHEAP!
anyways, I got zelda too. the fotune teller astrid, is behind the door,
I have to say somethin' into the mic for it to open. If I can't do that, I can't finish my game BUMMER!

My daughter bought a ds lite on ebay so had no warranty. Her mic wasn't working for Nintendo dogs. But bought the proper ds headset with microphone for about $20 from **** smith and now she can use her games well.

You could just by a headset and hook it up to your ds since it has an external hookup.

Open your ds take out the mic blow in it clean it wth a dry cotton ball and put it back in if you have a ds lite your screwed ;)

I fixed this by vacuuming the mic hole.

Get a headset for $15 or less. Much cheaper than fixing the device. It will correct the problem if the mic not working is all that is wrong. Your other option is to have it repaired. Someone said they took theirs to Best Buy. My Best Buy didn't have a clue what I was talking about. (No surprises there.) I had previously tried cleaning with denatured alcohol and canned air with out any help. If you choose to send it in to get it fixed call support. They will quote $75 to start plus $10 S&H ask them if that's their best price, they should reduce it to $50. That's the offer they made me if I was willing to take it on the spot.

ok i fond a solution if you have a ds lite i woundn`t bother trying to open it but i did the mic did not work at all until i opened it its a wire.
that you have to re-connect with a storing gun. or if you droped your ds that's the problem. or shell out $140.00 to buy a new one. or contact nintendo if you still have warranty

Ok guys this worked 4 me so try blowing in it...get your mouth over top of it and blow as hard as posseble but dont let any saliva get in...ok there pretty easy!

open the ds and see if the mic is connected to the right wire if not contact nintendo
