My brand new Singer Patchwork will only do one stitch at a time. It stops between each stitch. Help please.

Hello, Betsy -

I hope you have the sewing machine threaded properly. The user manual which came with your new machine will have instructions and illustrations you can check to make sure it is threaded properly.

Check through your manual to make sure everything is set properly.

After do that, if the machine still is not working properly, call the store where you purchased the machine and ask for advice.

Since your machine is new, I do not recommend you try any self-repair. Instead, if the store where you purchased the machine does not do repairs of Singer sewing machines, ask to be referred to an authorized Singer sewing machine repair center.

Best wishes.

Singer futura quartet seqs 6000 keeps giving me a broken thread error. Thread is not broken and I have done tried the unwaxed dental floss and canned air, Please help

Embroidery sewing machines will often give this error message due to low "drag" on the thread. Try placing the spool of thread upright into a cup on the floor and lead-up the thread as normal for threading. Make sure that the thread does not catch on the thread lock on the spool.

Happy stitching

Thread bunchingup on bottom of material on singer

Here are some solutions to try.

* Re-thread your machine
It may be threaded incorrectly.

* Raise your feed dogs If your machine has this feature.

* When you start to sew a seam, hold the upper and bobbin thread tails back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting caught in your machine.

I hope this helps.
