Air king b600 runs weak

I have an air king B-600, 2 years of so old and it has quit starting unless I give it a push by reaching into the cage to bump it a bit. Even then, it moves very little air. It spins freely to the touch so I don't think its gunked with grease. I want to upgrade to more power but I'm not sure I trust Air King parts. I am looking to put a commercial inline upstream in the attic but that's a lot of cost and work.

    curious if you were able to get yours working? I had the same problem years ago and not getting around to fixing it

What you can do is remove the blower assembly from the hood and replace the motors; try Grainger, etc. If it is just as expensive to replace the motors as it is to buy the motor assembly, by the entire assembly until your budget allows you to do the upgrade..

replace whole unit thats roughly what the whole unit costs 157.00 just a little secret there they dont tell you cause they mark up the prices i worked for the company that sold and installed this equipment you also remember tax

White from the hood goes to white from the house supply.
Red and Black from the hood go to black from the house supply.

Check the air filter is clean, and the ignition for correct operation. The plug indications are that the engine is running rich (too much fuel) or that the ignition spark is weak.

Quite likely the spin motor is a capacitor start type motor and has a capacitor to start it (by placing a winding slightly out of phase with the rest of the motor in turn encouraging the movement of the motor). When it reaches about 200 RPM the capacitor is disconnected and runs without it.
Maybe the start capacitor is faulty or the internal switch/electronic control is faulty?

Hello, if you can give the blower wheel a push and it starts then you need to replace the capacitor on the unit since it is weak. If the wheel does not start spinning then the motor is bad and must be replaced.

I plugged it in and the fan does not work. it shuts its self down after 2 minutes or so. I has been sitting in my garage for a year.
Try to take the front off of the unit. You can reach your hand inside the blower chamber and reach for the blower cage. Try to turn it by hand, it may possibly have a dirt dobber nest or something lodged into one of the fan blades keeping it from turning. Sometimes on the newer units, the motors are so weak, they need a little help starting if they have been sitting a while. Hopefully this will solve your problem.

Hello it could be a bad start winding in the motor! If it starts by hand (a push) and runs fine that may be the case. Pull the old capacitor and match it up(uf-value printed on the cap)and replace it ,it might slove the problem and is not to expensive to try.

Put in a new spark plug and check plug wire connections and ECM ground connections.

You probably have weak spark and when bump started the plug sparks strong enough to run the engine.

A weak battey can also cause this. Your ECM needs a minimum of 9V to work. (the ECM gives spark and timing) When kicking over, there is not enough volts to spark. When bumping over the alternator provides the extra volts to start the bike.

if it's yellow you have a fuel problem, dirty air cleaner or something blocking air flow air flow meter giving you some problesms, best to get it to a shop and hooked up to a diagnostic system. If it's red quit running it and take it in for repairs.

Squirrel cage installation.
If there is strong air flow blowing into the house the sq. cage should be OK. Possibly you need to replace the pads and make sure that the pump is not clogged and is distributing enough water to keep the pads wet.

Craftsman Riding mower won't stay running
Well this could be a couple of things first thing first is check the air filter and make sure its clean you can blow it with air or pore gas over it and clean it make sure you let it dry before reinserting
second im assuming this is the first time you have used it this year if so the gas you have in it hasnt been sitting in it all year has it like anything else gas gets old
third alot of times you can let it run for a while with the choke out then slowly pushing it in
fourth you could have water in the gas remove the tank and empty it remove the spark plug turn the engine 4 or 5 times only bumping it dont hold it down this will blow some of the water out then dry the spark plug off and replace it
if this doesnt help it could possibly be carburetor problems
