Method 1:
To release and renew your IP address:


Step 1
Go to "Start > Run" and type "cmd" (without quotation marks), then select "OK"

From the iCal menu, find preferences, click on that, then on the advanced menu, set the pregferences for view/hide completed to do items by using the checkboxes and setting the number of days you prefer

I assume you have some knowledge to configure this router.
Go to the management page, select the Wireless option.
choose a SSID name, hide it by selecting "Don't broadcast SSID"
Set a strong WPA password.
on the clients PC, type ipconfig /all
save the MAC addresses of the clients PCs, and enable MAC filtering on the router, define those MAC has allowed and everything else as denied.
save and reboot
configure each client PC manually (the SSID is hidden!)
also, you can disable DHCP on the router, and configure manually each client.
With all these combined, should be harder to get hacked into :)

If you have a firewall and anti-virus, there's no reason not to show your IP address. Unless you use a proxy, if you're on the internet, your IP address can be seen. Any website you go to can see your IP address. But as I said, with firewall and anti-virus, nothing at all can be done.

First and foremost check that you have WiFi switched on, it sounds so simple but you'd be surprised how often this is the problem.
