SOURCE: Headlights, high beams

No as a rule they don't fail at the same time, in fact it is unusual for the hi beam to fail ever, the problem is most likely in the turn signal/multifunction switch, this does cause your problem, have seen it many times.

SOURCE: 1991 camaro switch for you low and high beams

There is a metal rod that runs down the side of steering colmn and pushes on the dimmer switch. The dimmer switch is on the steering column to the left of the steering wheel. You will have to unbolt the column where it connects to the dash and rest it (the steering wheel) on the driver seat to get to the switch.. The switch is adjustable, just loosen the screws and slide it up or down to get proper adjustment.. Hope this helps.

What can be the problem with my Kia Sportage 2013 high beam, left one works fine but right one comes on and then switches off. Earth is good so are the globes.

So when the car is off and you have your headlights switched on both the low beam setting and high beam setting work normally. But once you start your car your low beam headlights work but when you switch to your high beams the right headlight shuts off? I don't know how that'd be possible since the controls for your high beam and low beams aren't connected to whether the engine is running I'd suggest changing your headlight bulbs

Why don't my low beam lights come on? they work intermittently.

the low beam lights are switched by the stalk. power goes in the stalk and you switch it between the high beam and low beam from that. If it works intermittently it could be bad contacts in the light switch/stalk. Jon

DASH LIGHT FOR HIGH BEAM STUCK ON EVEN WITH CAR OFF?

Looks like the dimmer switch is built into the combo turn signal wiper switch on the column.
I would unplug that switch and see if the indicator light goes off.
If it does the problem may be inside the combo switch.

Headlight problems

If the lights work when moving or holding the high beam switch there is a good possibility the switch itself is bad. The switch is located at the base of the steering collumn. the handle actually only operates a rod that goes into the switch to push it down to switch from high to low beam. The switch is not expensive and easily accessable although you sorta have to stand on your head to reach it.

This is about the tw 200 high beam, new bulb still doesn't seem to have any current to the yellow wires. One goes to high beam indicater, which by the way that bulb is burned out, the other goes to high...

If you have low beam then you have power to your handle bar switch, and if you have no power coming from the yellow wire from the handle bar switch, replace it.

84 honda shadow 700 vt lights are unpredictable

There seems to be some short in the circuit of the high beam, you will have to follow the high beam wiring, best would be to get the color of the high beam wire frm the head light bulb socket and trace it along you will sure find somwhere the along it the short.
Check the light switch and the blinker switch too.
Hope this helps!
