Why is it that every time I switch on my nokia n95 8gb I have to reset my date and time?

This happens when the time/date battery is out. That will make you confuse but it's not the ordinary battery that controls the time and date of your mobile, there's a tiny battery on the motherboard of your mobile. In most cases, it's soldered and so replacing is not recommended. When I say "tiny", it means very tiny, you might not be able to see it if the phone is not completely disassembled.
Hope this clears your doubt.

Let me know if you need further help.

Good Luck.

Nokia N95 Secrets

Here are some secret codes of Nokia N95 along with description. Use these codes at your own risk.

IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity)

Firmware version and date, Phone Model and Operator Variant

Life timer (W A R 0 A N T Y) - The amount of time your phone has spent sending and receiving calls.

Wireless MAC Address (M A C _ W L A N)

Bluetooth MAC address (B T A 0?)

Format phone (R E S 0 ?)

Factory Reset (R S T 0 ?)

Format phone restores phone to as if it was out of the box. Retains firmware version and operator Variant changes but wipes all applications you have installed. Does not format the memory card so any apps on there may reinstall once powered back up again.

Another way to format some symbian phones: Power off phone. Press and hold Green, * and 3 and keep them held whilst powering on and for a few seconds after.

Factory Reset resets all settings to defaults but keeps any applications you have installed and photos etc. Both need the Security code, which, by default, is 12345.

N95 picture viewer:
2 – Scroll up (when zoomed)
4 – Scroll left (when zoomed)
5 – Zoom in (12.5%/25%/50%)
6 – Scroll right (when zoomed)
8 – Scroll down (when zoomed)
0 – Zoom out

Press and hold (in Standby):
Right selection key: Voice commands
Multimedia Key: Now Playing
1: Voice mail
2-9: shortcuts to address book you need to set up first
0: Web
#: Switches between General and Silent modes - not supported by all Operator Variants (when composing messages will switch between character and number input when held down)

12# (etc) in standby will dial the number held in location 12 on your SIM address book.

Cant send sms. states memory full. close some applications and try again. nothing is open on phone!

N95 Memory Full Problem can not be resolve by simply restarting or by changing the network setting. You must "Manual Reset" it. Just Turn Off the Phone, Press the *, Call Button, Three and ask another Person to turn on your N95 by pressing the power button. Stay pressing the Three Buttons until the phone fully boot up and ask you to enter Date and Time. After that, youre phone will go back to Factory Setting.

My nokia n82 asks for the date and time to be set every time i switch it on.The automatic update works for that day and then it asks again

Your internal battery that's keeping the time and date in the memory is drained. You need to bring your unit to a cellphone repair shop. Need special tool to replace the battery.

Why do i have to reset time and date when i turn phone back on (n95 nokia) It has being doing this lately

well I know what your problem is and all you need to do to stop the time reset everytime you turn your phone on is first turn off the phone and then hold the green answer key, the *, and the 3 key whilst pressing the power button this will rest the phone and voila your problem will be solved guaranteed.

Please rememeber to back up your sim contacts to your memory card as everything will be wiped off the phone. Once this is done you will also find your phone will only need charging once every few days rather than daily.

any further advice contact me on

N95 Arabic Language

If you set the phone to Automatic Language detection, it will probably change with an Arabic SIM card.
When you change a language, other settings in the phone change automatically IE. Predictive text, Calculator, Date, Time and Separators etc...
