Control Panel Doesnt Light. Breaker is good. Interior bottom light works ?

During laundry yesterday I noticed the dryer had stopped. When i opened it the clothes were still damp and the panel did not light. I did however notice that the interior light was working. The breaker and recept both proved to be fine. Any suggestions ?

Possible bad connection to the cord, inside the dryer.. unplug it, remove the rear panel, and do a continuity check with a meter.

Dead on accurate. Funny that when I had pulled the unit out a few weeks back to dismantle and clean the lint out of blower and what not i noticed a spark in the back where the cord housing is. I thought it was simply an igniter of sorts and dismissed it. After your advise I pulled the cover and checked the power supply to find out the connections have been corroding. Thanks for your help ! No $200 circuit board needed !!! Wohoo.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune MDE5500AYW panel lights work but not dryer

inside the control panel is a tech sheet that has some diagnostics on it . there is a membrane button test or something to that effect. I suspect that the start/pause button is the problem and you would need to replace the console w/touchpad.about $130-140 new. there are some used ones on ebay.

SOURCE: While I was out of town my wife was drying clothes

you must check if there is power to the element when you have it switch on , , if you have no power to the element , then trace the wiring from the element to a hi limit thermostat , it a small round disc shape item about the size of a 10 cent coin with two connections , remove the wires and check continity accross the two terminals, if it is ok , then check the on and off switch or timer dial , you might see burn marks around the connections , since it trip the circuit breaker

I have a Whirlpool GEQ9800PW1 Electric dryer and I opened the door to dry some clothes and the interior light was out so I immediately checked the circuit panel to see if it had blown a fuse, it had not. ...

The fuse to this dryer is inside behind the filter housing beside the thermistor.themobilian_592.jpg
Pop that bottom panel and remove the filter housing to get to this fuse.

Power went out on dryer (including interior light)

Try resetting the dryer circuit breaker pair in the house electrical panel--push off, then on. If no help, look for a circuit breaker button on the back of the dryer. If still no help, then a voltmeter will be needed to service some portion of the dryer interior. You will need a wiring diagram to make sense of the voltage readings. Good luck!

Kenmore Elite Electric Dryer, Model # 110.8586400, Control Panel Lights inoperative, But Drum Light works fine. I am going to try this procedure, Will let you know if it works. Jay/ Jacksonville Florida...

I followed that procedure, Taking the Electronic Control Unit out of the dryer, Blow Drying the printed circuit Board (PCB) Board out and reseating P3 and P4, Worked fine.. No moisture was found in the Drum area. I forgot to tag the TECH SHEET FOR this particular dryer . But punch in Tech sheet , Part # 8546206 into google, this gives Schematic and valuable Troubleshooting steps, The only thing i could not find was the pin to pin test on chekcing the individual switches on the main functions, Suppose to be 14 pins I only found 13. But in all drying the PCB board and reseating the plugs worked for me. Again the symptons were no Light indication on ANY button depressed but the drum light was on. Great Site, Not a first time user

Interior lights not working on Samsung Refrigeration.

My samsung rf265ab did the same thing after I was cleaning it and the door was open for an extended time. I noticed the the light bulbs looked good and also notice 2 tiny black buttons between the light bulbs. They were slightly extended. I pushed both in and when I opened the fridge again the lights were working. Don't know if I fixed it or just a coincidence.

Dryer not working

Front Panel lights not working? Dryer inside light does work? I fixed this twice already on my dryer. Please read this whole explanation I live in New Orleans where the humidity is very high. I have a laundry room where my Washer and Dryer reside. Kenmore HE4T. I noticed that when I shut the laundry room door, my central A/C pulls hot air from outside the house via the dryer exhaust duct. This causes moisture to build on the inside of the dryer and especially the front control panel. Did you ever see moisture on your dryer?s door even when there were no clothes in it? The moisture collects on the Silicon board that controls the dyers function and basically causes a short. This is what I do to fix it. You will need a ¼ nut driver or socket. 1. Confirm that you have power to the dryer <- is the inside dryer light on when you open the door. YES- keep reading.. NO ? find the circuit breaker and reset it. 2. UNPUG THE DRYER! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 3. Find the 3 screws in the back of the dryer that hold the dryer lid on. Unscrew them and slid the lid back and lift off. Is there moisture on the inside of the lid? 4. Find the 2 screws that hold down the front control panel. They should be silver and will be on top. Do not remove the inside gold screws. 5. Find the 3 screws that hold down the power control panel on the top left side of the dryer. Probably has a high voltage warning sticker on it. 6. Lift the power control panel (sheet metal) part and move it to the right so it lays on the dyers drum. There are some wires attached to it and unless you are a very handy person, I wouldn?t remove them. 7. Lift the front control panel straight up until it comes out of the dryer. There should be some wires that attach this piece to the power control panel. If you are handy, you can remove these 2 clip-on wires from the power control panel by squeezing the black connector locking clip and releasing it from the panel. 8. If you flip the control panel around you may notice moisture on the green silicon chips. Get a hairdryer and take your time to dry them. 9. Dry all components of the dryer with a hairdryer. 10. Put everything back together except for the lid and all the screws. Remember that the front control panel slides down first and then the power control panel sits on top second. Plug the dryer in and see if you get lights, but don?t start the dryer. Unplug the dryer and replace all the screws and the lid. The problem is that once the dryer gets wet from the moisture, it never dries enough for it to start working again. This is a bad design from Sears/Whirlpool. I learn my lesson that just because its more expensive doesn?t make it more better. I now keep my dryer and washer door open all the time even when there are no clothes in it. This lets the moisture escape into the house rather than collect in the dryer. I hope this helps at least one person. Thanks Jason Kennedy from New Orleans
