The power went out while my wife was baking. When the power came back on the oven stopped working. She reset the control panel only to get "OFF" on the LED. Is there a way to get the control panel online again, or does "OFF" mean the ignitor needs to be replaced? Thank you for your time. David
Need model number and brand name,i've seen the power go out and when the power comes back on the power surge takes out the computer board or clock assy.but if she touched the panel she might have locked the board,on some models if you hold the clockbutton in for 5 seconds, some you hold the start button for 3 to 5 seconds or it has a lock button on it so if you send the model number i can check that for you,you can try unplugging it for like 15 minutes and see if that resets it or the power surge took out the board if it's not locked out

This is a problem with the control panel assembly, which we repair nationwide for $32.50 postpaid. Sometimes the bulbs short when they fail, and that damages the control board. This also can happen when bulbs are removed or installed without first unlugging the oven or turning off the breaker. check the touch pad , and check the control panel...
SOURCE: GE Microwave Keypad or Control Panel
If some pads on the keypad are not working, then you have a failed keypad.
If you (or someone you know) might want to replace it yourself, I have uploaded a handy guide with pictures showing you what's typically involved.
You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.
There
should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the
control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is
very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.
If you would like to have us do this for you, we do that for $39.95 plus part costs.
On this model, the cover will have to come off to replace the light bulb. If it's mounted in the wall, it will have to come down.
The installation instructions are nice to have in this case. You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.
I have attached a drawing to show where the bulb is on this model. It is located on the right side of the oven next to the wall of the cooking cavity.
The bulbs are available in local grocery stores, hardware stores, and stores like Wal-Mart and Lowe's.

That model number is not quite right. I'm going to assume it's JVM1740DMBB01.
(If that's not right, please check the tag inside the oven & reply back)
The membrane keypad is not
available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control
panel frame which comes with a new keypad.
In this case, you simply
move your circuit board into the new frame.
The part number you need is WB07X11040 and you can find
helpful exploded view diagrams and order this part here for $107.00 (compared to $164.75 from GE!)
