Question about HP Officejet 7130 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My 7130 says "scanner failure, turn power off, then on again". When i do this, it says the same thing. A tech (not hp) told me that a lot of hp's have this problem, and are solved by firmware update. HP's website does not have one for my all in one. Are there any third party updates? Another forum said that cleaning the scanner glass may help. Any idea's? I have not cleaned glass, as this is a lengthy process, and a last resort. I have tried all resets available with no success.
Scanner failure usually means you'll have to replace the entire scanner unit.
When the machine turns on (or gets plugged in), does anything happen...any lights come on?
Is the machine able to print from the computer and recieve faxes while the scanner error is present? If so, you probably need a scan unit.
