Voice mail on/off

I have a button on my reception phone labeled "night" which turns on and off the voice mail.  Is there a way to turn it on/off from another phone in the office (I have the 32D and the others are 16D)?  Thanks

  1. The Night mode of the phone system is merely a second ring pattern on the phone system.
  2. The phone turning Night mode on/off must have Attendant features set.

Try hitting feature 80 feature. It should work from any phone on your system.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How do change the outgoing "Night Mode" message in the Voice Mail System on NEC Electra Elite DTU 32D-1?

If you are using an Active Voice product (typical w/ NEC) you need to change the hours of operation on the voice mail system. "Night Mode" only changes the ringing characteristics of the phone system and where calls ring, not the greetings that play on the voice mail. The voice mail plays a particular greeting (Day/Night/Holiday) based on the time of day specified in the schedule. The system administrator for the voice mail would have to make this change.

Can i turn off voicemail

To turn off your voice mail automatically, turn off your phone and turn it back on after 5 minutes, then you enter ##002# and press the green/dial button, it will automatically deactivate the voice mail from the phone. Then test it by dialing the number of the phone from another phone to see if it will go to the voice mail or it will ring normally. I trust it will ring normally after doing the ##002# and dial voice mail reset.
Hope this helped you. Thanks for using fixya.

Night button and voice mail

Sounds like the voicemail might be off?

Is the system time and date correct? It could be that you lost power, and all the programming that tells the phone system where the voicemail is.

Will Not go to voice mail

Jennifer209, if you press FEATURE + the button VM is pre-programmed on what does it display? It should show the extension number pilot to VM. If you call it directly, what happens? If you get no answer calling it directly, your VM may be down.

Kaait, is it getting into the VM that's the problem, or doing things inside the mailbox that is the problem?
