Good day. Hoping to get some startup advice. I need to access a new newly reset Nortel 470 switch to configure

you need to reset the setting before you can get the access to the device. Hard reset should be good. once done, plugin to your existing LAN, discover the IP taken via DHCP. configure the device.
Web interface should help you to do quick configuration.

Default network security key for apple airport

The Network Security Key is possibly the same pw as the network you are attaching to. This device can be configured in so many different ways.
If you can't figure it out then use the reset button on the back or use paper clip in reset hole.

To set up and configure your AirPort Extreme to use AirPort for wireless networking and Internet access, use the setup assistant in AirPort Utility.
The manual may be of some help... Available here

Good Luck

Have the key but still can't connect to network

The encryption key maybe incorrect. I suggest you RESET the Linksys wireless router and then configure it again.

To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button.
To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.

How to re configure ip adress

Go to the "Resets" menu and select the "RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS" selection. This will revert your machine to the condition that it was in when it came from the factory. Remember, the default for networking is DHCP, so once reset and online, you could use the web interface to configure it further.

Need network security key

It depends. Not kidding!
Depending upon the available hardware and access to the wireless router, it could be as simple as examining the outside of the router and reading the network key off of a label on the router. failing that, you would likely need to have an ethernet cable that you can use to connect directly to a port on the router. Note that not many routers will allow access to the configuration through the wireless connection. You might be able to get to the smart part of the router by then using your browser. You can usually find the router manual on the internet to get the default IP and admin password to access the configuration. If nobody changed the configuration, then just getting access to the configuration should display the wireless key.
If this router is on your own network and you've forgotten the password, and you want to add some equipment, then consider resetting the router to factory settings, and default SSID and key. Check your manual, but usually putting a toothpick into the tiny hole and holding it for a number of seconds will cause the router to reset.
Once the router resets, you can access the configuration and set your password and SSID to what you want. You'll then need to configure all your other equipment with the network name and key.

Even if you have a PC that does talk on the network with the router now, you probably won't get the PC to show you the key for the network in the clear.

Modem automatically not configured ( Network Adapter)

This happens with almost all the modems and routers. You can try resetting the modem ( you can find the reset button at the back side or underneath the modem ). After the reset, the modem should get auto configured.
