Black & decker toster oven

-   On the toast setting it works fine-all elements work, but when you switch to the oven or broil settings nothing works. I think it's the top switch / potentiometer has gone bad....... darn thing isn't very old!!-   Guest

-   I have a similar problem with the same &D toaster oven. I love this toaster oven, and have had it about 10 months. For the past month or so the toaster works just fine, but the oven has stopped working. When I turn the switch in the oven position the light does not come on, nothing happens. However, one time last week when I tried to use the oven it worked perfectly fine -- but has not worked again since then. It obviously has to be either a bad switch or something loose. -   ZobVa

Oven Top Heating Elements Work OK
Bottom Heating Elements Don't Work

Found one of the heating elements spring heating wire broken off it's end mounting connection.

This bottom heater is tied in series with the other heating element on the bottom
If one heater opens in the quartz tube, neither will heat.
