New JVC TV Dropping programmed channels

JVC EM TV, no cable box, just a line to the TV. I have to run a channel scan nearly every day, not sure why it's dropping the channels. Any ideas, and/or a fix?

It sounds that the main system control memory IC to this TV is faulty. Contact any service technician to confirm. This is not a user repairable fault. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

SOURCE: Toshiba 26AV502U Won't Pick Up Channels

Hi albertogiler, I am happy to help, you will need to attach a antenna to the tv to pick up OTA over the air signals, depending on your location you may be able to use a set of rabbit ears, I have provided a link to a site that will explain in depth. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx
Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star

SOURCE: lower channels not working or fuzzy on LG 50PC1DRA

I hope you have a VCR! I want you to do a brief 10 minute recording of each of the stations in question then play them back on the tv using the video input jack instead of ch 3 or 4. If you have the same problem then you have just recorded the cable signal coming into your home and therefor is the cable company's responsibility to repair. Have them come out and demonstrate the tape to them. You will enjoy the look on his or her face. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate.
By the way, I spent a lot of summers at my Aunts home in St.Catherine's as a kid. Great times.

cable or Ant.. ? after the scan if there is no channels found (0 digital, 0 analog) then try with cable or Ant to see if any of them work.. if they still don't pick up any channels and the whole yellow progress line goes across.. then it sounds like the tuner on the tv is bad.. and the tuner is part of the main-board so the whole main-board will have to be exchange or repair.. contact Amergence technology they are a 3rd party repair center that service Olevia TV's and they will be able to give you an idea on the repair cost..

SOURCE: Dynex 32" 720 LCD HDTV - no channel listing after run auto scan?

Excuse me but the other answers are written by people who have not actually confronted the problem and are just guessing. They are all wrong. Here's the answer:

If your TV is expecting a TV input, it will keep searching for at least one TV channel on cable or antenna. If you only have a DVD player plugged in, for example, or if your cable is hooked up wrong, so there's no video signal on it, the TV will keep searching forever. (This is an unforgivable design flaw, by the way. But then, it was a cheap TV, wasn't it?)

To solve the problem, look at your remote control. You will find input buttons. Mine are small, along the top, right under the "power" button. Try pressing "video" for example, instead of TV. That stops the TV from hunting for TV channels.

Have a merry Christmas. Enjoy your new TV. Watch it in moderation and eat fruit and vegetables every day.

I just bought a progressive scan Tv and can't get it to srtup to any channel it just stays on channel 3 mono

Progressive scan has nothing to do with your tuning, it refers to the scan lines in laying the picture on the screen...ie. progressive scan versus interlaced scan.
to program TV channels you will need to go into the menu to do that either automatically or manually. If you have a cable or satelite box connected to unit, that may explain why it programs to only ch 3.
If using cable or satelite box I highly recommend use of Either HDMI cable or composite cables.

I can only get channels 600 through 900 which I have never see before.I cannot get regular channels or cable channels. It is not a flat panel t.v.Q1435A is the model number

Hi -

If you have a cable TV line connected directly to the TV, an antenna or a cable box connected by coaxial cable, I would suggest running the automatic channel scan (AUTO-PROGRAM) again:

1. Press the AV key on the Advent remote control repeatedly until TV is displayed in one corner of the TV screen. If you don't have the Advent remote, use the TV/AV button on the front of the TV.
2. Press the MENU key on the advent remote or the front of the TV to open the on-screen menus.
3. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight PRESET then press VOL+ to select.
4. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight ANTENNA then use the VOL+ key to select either AIR (for antenna) or CABLE.
5. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight AUTO-PROGRAM then press the VOL+ key to start the automatic channel scan.

Once the channel scan is complete, the TV should automatically return to viewing the first channel found during the scan. Do not press the MENU key during the scan or the scan will not complete.

If you are using a cable/satellite receiver and it is connected to the TV by any means other than a coaxial cable, you do not need to run the channel scan. You should simply select the correct AV input using the AV key on the remote or the TV/AV key on the front of the TV (see step 1 above).

If you have done all of the above and you are still unable to get the channels on your TV, please post back for further assistance. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question. Please let me know whether you are using a direct cable line, antenna or cable box, etc.

I can only able to see 65 channels in my new samsung t.v[LCD]but in my calbe there are more tahn 70 channels....how can i see the all channels

When you scan for channels, make sure you choose "cable" for the setting under the "Antenna" tab.

channel --> antenna --> choose cable

This should let your TV show more channels. Most cable companies issue cable boxes now a days, which you plug into your TV. You usually change the channel by using the remote for the cable box.

Hope this helps

We have been trying to set the channels in our old picture tube tv. it scans through the channels and once complete, you can only watch the last channel found and once you go to change channels, it...

Be sure your tv is programing with a correct signal. Air or cable channels, and that you do have a line going into the RF connector [antenna signal]. If you have a satellite or cable box your tv will only tune to channel 3. Also, if you are logged into a dvd player or vcr...you will only have one channel memory. Remove any of the external players [games, dvd, vcr etc.] And retune with auto program!

I have a jvc tv model av27530. Disconnected cable box b/c going

You probably have to find your original remote to the set and go through setup in your menu. On most sets, there will be a menu item which will allow you to switch from Cable mode to Air mode. If you have no Cable connected, then you must set tuner in Air mode.

If you are using an external device to run on channel three, then try this:
Make sure device (rather it's a vcr or game console), is hooked up to your Antenna Input connector. Also, some of these devices will have a small hidden switch on back that says 3 and 4. Move the switch to 3 position. Turn on device. Go into TV menu and do a Channel scan. This should auto program any device hooked up to the TV antenna input jack to channel three.

Keep in mind that you may not receive anything by Feburary of this year without an HD converter box to tune in channels with and outdoor antenna.

Cannot get local channels back after dropping cable.

Are you positive that your city has not done the Digital Conversion? Some Cities are doing it early before the February deadline. Also make sure you are tuning in to the correct channels. Meaning that if on your Cable Provider ABC was on Channel 3 that does not mean that ABC with still be on Channel 3 after you have your Cable turned off. Most of the Time the Local Stations Tag will let you know what channel its on. It will be something like "KWAS ABC 27" So on your TV you would Tune it to channel 27 to get ABC and the same fore NBC , FOX, CBS , etc...
I hope this helps Take Care =)

Program satelite or cable

you are not specific as to programming cable or satellite .if you have cable tv with a cable box there is no need to program tv channels.the tv should be left on channel 3.check the back of the cable box & tv it may also be connected thru rca/s-video or componant cables meaning the tv should be on a line in/source ,or video input. for a tv without a cable box
you can do the auto or manual programming. no need to be on channel 3. if you have satelllite tv you need the box to hook up to your tv.you cannot bypass this box unlike cable tv.also check the back of the box for the other possible connections
good luck
